Clutch Master Cylinder

New Member
Dear all
I have found the OEM part number for the clutch master cylinder for a phase 1 -6020010249 but this is no longer available from Renault. I am unable to find an alternative part number or supplier.
If anyone has any part advice and a description of how to change this (it's very tight in that pedal area!) a response would be gratefully received.
Ed

Looks odd, doesnt have the "Renault" look to the shape on the dialogy. Id be taking it out and getting it refurbished I think, new seals etc if its a metal cylinder. If its a plastic one, you may have to retrofit something.

Managed to get it out please see attached photo. I got the part number from the parts diagrams on this site. It tallies with what is on the cylinder.

if that were mine i'd take it apart (if thats even possible), check the bore for wear, if the bore is OK I would try and get new seals for the piston. if the bore is worn then thats a problem as I doubt there is enough meat to be able to sleeve it. You'll need to measure the diameter and sweep in order to find something similar for fluid delivery and retrofit it.

Hi Edd,

Some Other Renault models use a similar set up

Try Google part code : 8200459155,
The unit above looks the same but with a longer plunger at the ball socket end. Hopefully the hydraulic ram is a standard component and could possibly be interchange with your existing plunger/rod.
These are still Available

Hope this helps :approve: :approve: :approve:

I've just checked and the plunger /rod is easily removed - I have ordered the alternative part and im quite hopeful that I can change over the plunger/rod and be able to use the new cylinder - thank you that was good advice.

Just one more question - when I try to bleed the clutch at the gearbox, the bleed nipple unscrews but no fluid comes out - do you need to remove the metal clip on the plastic hosuing to open up the valve?

That part number was perfect thank you. I managed to change over the plunger/arm and it all worked great. I managed to bleed the system at the gearbox end by undoing the hydraulic line (the bleed nipple didnt work even when fully removed). Unfortunately the clutch stopped working again after about half an hour so I can only assume the leak is from the slave cylinder so it looks like a gearbox out job.
