NO, not built the engine yet had a few problems, all the threads were pulled on the bottom of the block face, i think it was the crank imbalance that caused it as i cannot find anything else! am waiting to put inserts in all 8 threads but need the correct length, they are on the way from the USA as we speak.
as for main bolts, do you have a figure for the torque value on these, and are they stretch torqued?
as for dyno day it would be good if a trophy turned up as it should be the most powerful clio there. i got 207 at the wheels of a std car but it was frought with a couple of problems. overfuelling and a stuck thermostat, probably the same issue really.
see you at the dyno day.

hi yes thay are stretch bolts.m11. thay are torqued up to 30nm plus 180 degrees. thats the inner bolts nearest to the crankshaft i only had problems with 4 of the outer ring of bolts witch bolts the two halfs of engine block together [smilie=thanks.gif]

hi it would be nice if it was 320 but the trophy has a full race gearbox so i don think i loose that many bhp [smilie=thanks.gif]

yes, i have seen the thread repairs in the outers, this damage is to do with the inner m11 main cradle bolts, all the threads were showing cracks and bits missing but at the thrust main the threads were pulled completely out, with serious damage either side. i have reservations doing thread repairs with helicoil type inserts as some types just dont have the strength, so i am converting all the threads in the block base to genuine time sert inserts from wurth, as these are a hardened steel insert i am going to convert from stretch torque to a regular torqued bolt, may even go for studs and nuts, just need to get on with it and see how it goes.
