Agreed.
The 10% saving would be very welcome, but not essential. To me, buying these covers is like buying a pig in a poke... you're never quite sure what you'll get from a mail-order or internet service. Hence, I haven't bought one prior to now. The fact you have first hand experience of these products is good enough for me.
Organising a group buy will save you £25, so not getting this off the ground may not be a bad thing. :wink: Lets see what happens... :approve:

Get a quote from your manufacturer to make this indoor cover (no disrespect but outdoor covers look SH1TE; ergo - get a universal one from Halfrauds):

Hi all. I've been following this to see whether we are getting any closer to five people and it doesn't look like it right now . I've added my details which are as follows:


1. Astonandy- Indoor, blue, renaultsport logo as Kett whatever everyone agrees is best!
2. James- Outdoor
3. Ozbird- Indoor, light grey, renaultsport logo
4. Kett- preferably Indoor, light grey, renaultsport logo as demanded by peer group
5. Clarkeeuk99-
6. Guillaume-

We should let it run for a little bit longer but not much beyond the end of the week I would say. If we get five mixed covers (indoor/outdoor) I'll approach the makers to see if they would give us the discount for different materials. Have to say it won't be a deal-breaker for me if we don't achieve the 10% as I really need the cover as I ride my bike every day and its next to the Vee in the garage and a cover would make me feel a bit better edging by!

Yes it is five but...in the original conversation with the manufacturers they needed all five to be the same type (all colours and logos were freely available) as well as all Clio V6s. We have four indoor one outdoor which doesn't meet their original criteria but I'll call them again and see if we can't get the deal with the slight variation :wink: I'll post exact prices and the ordering process once I've got the green light. Then we come to the even trickier question of agreeing a logo if you want one and getting artwork. Again, I'll ask what they have already produced.

Will post as soon as I've heard but Monday at the latest.

I think Janelle and Shaun have already stated a preference for number 1. It gets my vote too (which technically accounts for 75% of the indoor buying group). :approve:
I think it's slightly inappropriate to the Mk I - but since there's no MK I owners on this GB, then that's academic.

Personally, I think the logo is where the cover manufacturers might struggle (because of the stretch material).
There's nothing worse than dodgy logo (as seen on knock-off LaCoste T-shirts in the '80's), so I'm hoping for some assurances from the guys Andy's dealing with...

Good point Kett. Whatever logo we get it needs to retain it's shape. Will it be embroidered or printed? Will it be one colour only?
Also we wouldn't want any problems re copyright or trademarks!
I voted for no 1 assuming it can be reproduced satisfactorily but a lot will depend on what the manufacturer says he/she can do.

Colour usually tends to cost a bit more, but where it is necessary it will just have to be.
No problem with copyright as the club has Renault's official OK to use these. I would hope the logo printing/stitching would be done with consideration to the amount of stretching to suit this car.

Have now heard from Specialised Car Covers on their offer price for the 4+1 and am awaiting the final price from Classic Additions which I'll have first thing tomorrow so will post details then. No logo for the outdoor cover as it breaks the waterproof membrane but they will both offer discount for a mixed order (indoor/outdoor) and both offer a free choice of colour. Will give you the breakdown and a recommendation. Specialised are much cheaper at the moment for a similar quality with a single order and multiple delivery points.
