Chat about the French Car Show

Not yet. I'm working on a 3D version, should be ready to see in a couple of weeks. :)

Work in progress.

Patience is a virtue... ;)

Still waiting for confirmation about the exact size of our stand, so the plan my well change a bit, so no point putting anything up just yet.
All will become clear closer to the time, and should have quite a good visual impact. Needless to say though, with a similar plot to last year and minimal funds being used.. it wont be resembling the Geneve Car Show too much.. lol

Closer to the time?! It's only 2 weeks off lol, just a thought but may help your 'master plan' come to life a bit easier if you tell people in advance what you're thinking, that way people will have an idea of where they will be required to park and in what order etc. If it's the size of plot you're waiting on then I'd seriously be pushing for the info by now!

Although I believe Kermits destination is sorted already, and is the centrepiece this year lol, and what a centrepiece Kermit will be

This year was a bit difficult to get a plan finalised due to some people on the attendance list who we expected to have bought tickets but turned out very late in the day they had not. Each ticket purchased determines how much space we are allocated. Until 2 days ago we we were showing discrepancies between the list of who said they are going to actual tickets bought.

After much communication with FCS organisers, we have reached what we think is the definite total of stand passes. Consideration has been given to allow access off and on the stand for those few going on the track. The other cars will be put into an order which is not too much of a jumble.

I might pop the plan up on the forum just to show people were they are placed, but only for that purpose. It will stand to reason that if you are positioned near to the back of the stand that you would be required to arrive before those in front of you.

Posting stand plans on the forum for weeks before the day is not something we favour. History and experience has shown this to end up much more difficult. We have done a few club stands now and it's been a case of Shaun letting people know where they are to park. It has worked well thanks to everyone's polite nature.

FCS require all cars are to be on the stand no later than 9:00am. They tell me they will not lock the gates to club stands but late arrivals will reflect badly on our club, as this is a matter of public safety.

It says we have to go at least one hour prior to our sessions to garage 36 in our cars. My track times are 10.45-11.00 and 11.15-11.30. I hope that helps you plan the stand (probably complicates it lol!).

Just a suggestion Nas, it might be worth while spreading your track sessions out a little. Only reason being is its less harsh on your car and gives it an opportunity to cool a little. Rockingham can be a bit harsh on the brakes. First corner is a hairpin from a very fast section for instance. Put it this way, I hope mine doesnt catch fire this year!!! lol

Thanks for the advice! I carry a fire extinguisher in mine hopefully wont be needed! What if I swop one of my sessions with David? Is that possible?

2.4 mile International Circuit - part oval, grandstand straight and part infield track as used by British Touring Car Championship.

Thanks James I wanted a heads up on what to expect and do a little research before going on there for real! Anyone know any good simulators or racing car games to practice on?
