Chat about the French Car Show

From an independent point of view all I see is Shaun wants to organise the stand properly so needs to know who is coming and in what colour etc. Same as what the French boys wanna know for our Mas Du Clos trip. Have I missed something today???? I cant wait for FCS and seeing all the vees!! I will be like kid in a sweet shop! It will be good to put faces to names. And Shaun if my fans come on unexpectedly nothing to do with me! Its not on remote control I can assure you!

It is admin too Shaun.

Never mind, I'm sure the show will be a good day out!

cant we just park in plaque order, oldest to youngest? or all the IB, IS together etc etc? what really is the arguement here??? :s

There's no argument just the usual every year need to know who is really coming and who isn't, so we can calculate what space we needed for whichever design Shaun has in mind. We want the stand to look as interesting as possible.

That sort of thing is the pretty much the idea Jack. However, if there's people that dont want to play ball, everyone else might just as well be peeing into the wind fella.. lol

In principle, its dead easy to get cars parked up in any order one wishes, but with everyone turning up at different times, manoeuvring v6's about a restricted space is a bit of a challenge, so we need everyones co-operation. :approve:
We still have a couple of weeks before FCS and I'm sure all this sillyness will have blown over by then and everything will return to its harmoneous normality.. As a newbie you're probably thinking "wtf? Is this shit normal?" I'm happy to say, it isnt.. [smilie=icon_cheers.gif]

Roll on FCS!! :race:

I must have missed something here!
im not sure what's going on but I my opinion is if ur not happy with the idea there's always the public car park

I think on one of the occassions I went Shaun/James were trying to do a good job of organising cars and some owners seemed to plonk their cars in random places and dissappear, I may be wrong but it appeared to me this was a bit inconsiderate and may have been partly to have cars in a 'prime' spot - nothing wrong there you might say ... Maybe Shaun/James were just disorganised on that occassion though ;)

It makes sense to me to have some form of attempt to arrange the cars based on who is coming and the car types and colours etc. as space is normally tight and admin can be creative about how the cars are presented to the benefit of the whole group of attendees ...

There was a fair bit of plonking and running off a while back, but FCS was all set out to the master plan. I know it's a pain in the arse faffing about to get the cars lined up, but please once again be patient everyone, your were all great last year and the stand looked quite tidy given the space we had.

The list is now up to date with those who've ordered and likely to receive their stand passes. Shaun can get on with his layout with a bit more certainty now.

Shaun you hit the nail on the head about manoeuvering V6s in a restricted space!! V6s have trouble on a runway strip let alone anything smaller!  I guess you also need to consider those of us doing track so we can get our vees out easily and onto the circuit. Logistical nightmare! Glad you're doing it and not me!! I have received all my stuff today club passes etc. It says we have to go at least one hour prior to our sessions to garage 36 in our cars. My track times are 10.45-11.00 and 11.15-11.30. I hope that helps you plan the stand (probably complicates it lol!).

Will prob give the track session a miss,i have asked to change it to a slightly later time so i can go round with nas which will give me time to clean my car and say hi to everyone.
getting car on to infield for 9am to do a 1hr briefing for 15min session? i understand what mark is saying about filling 300 morning slots but tbh not very helpfully just NO WAY can't change time!

I have an idea mate. I have two track slots but we can have a passenger along. What if we do one ride in mine and one ride in yours with each other as passengers. Its £10 for a passenger. What do you think?

It will be great to ride as a passenger in another vee! I have never done it before so I can see how it feels like when I take people out in mine!

not bad idea thanks m8 but i will c how i feel closer to the day just quite pissed with the email i recieved.

Does seem a bit much 1hr briefing. I know you'll likely to be on the stand at 8am with all the rest of us, but and hour away for just a 15 min drive seems a bug waste of time.
