Ideas, questions and suggestions for the 2010 v6clio.net France trip in here please.
Details will be in the Mas du Clos thread.

i was speaking with david schmaltz on v6passion the other evening, i'm well up for the 10 yrs of v6 clio along with a couple of friends, probably going to give le mans a miss but i'm not going to miss this...

aslong as my vee is all in one piece..:)

:) As mentioned to a few a while ago... Would love to do more of a road trip like I did when I first bought my v6 back in the summer of 2007. There's a few places../ options.. that I like..
Travel South throught the Alpes.. Germany (Baden Baden etc) Switzerland and Italy (Stelvio pass et al) and down through to Monaco and the South Coast...
Or.. driving down the west side of France, perhaps taking in Brittany do begin with.. Nantes.. la Rochelle. Bordeaux and down to cross the Millao Bridge and the Pyrenees.

Lots of miles to cover.. but a fantasti trip! :) :race:

mmm.... World series at Magny cours is the same weekend.....not a million miles apart.....
could do that on the Saturday, and Mas du clos on the Sunday.... about a 2.5 hour drive on nice D roads!

the French set the date, obviously assumed they were not supposed to be there but for the hand of god.

ok Rough idea, who is interested:
Basic plan so far will be leaving UK on Friday (18th June) morning driving down maybe to Bourge where we can base ourselves as its mid point between Magny and Mas du Clos and there are plenty of hotels. Saturday (19th) spend at World series by Renault at Magny cours, not sure if there is a collectors area as such but will try to get involved if poss. (dont worry about Silverstone type crowds, Magny cours last time was very quiet indeed.). Leave Magny cours on Sat afternoon head back to base at Bourges, Sunday (20th) morning would be an early start for anyone wanting to take part in the track day as drivers briefings are always early, for the rest of us it will be an after breakfast drive down some great roads to Mas du CLos for the "10 year" event. Back to base at Bourge after. Monday, (21st) Le mans is an option, I know its a week after the 24 hours but there is a museum and much of the 24 hour track to drive there for those interested, and home again Tuesday via the classic N138 road to Rouen (or road to Ruin for some in the past!)
Being "based" at one hotel for a few nights has its advantages, no need to pack everything in the car every day for one, and if someone doesnt want to do one of the events, just stay in the city, or wants to leave early, they can without having to wait for the rest of us. and just ask Phil, Clarkie99, about the road from Bourge to Magny!
and this time, everyone will be issued with route maps so no one should get lost!
Any takers?

I'd be up for this and like Shaun says, I'd probably make my own extension down to Monaco as I've wanted to do this for ages. Problem is I can't give a definate answer until a certain little issue of mine has been soerrted in the courts.... :(

The Le mans 24 race is on around this time, maybe cliov6.net camp?
As mentioned before, but not going to be an official club trip, tbh the 24 hours is just too big an event... but if you are hanging around for the following week you are welcome to join us.

hik mark,

Stevo,
Mas du Clos is in Western France so you dont need to go much further south to find great driving roads. Once south of Clermont Ferrand you enter what is almost a wilderness of craggy mountains and valleys and any road off the motorway will be fantastic and traffic free. Continue south west and you will hit the pyrnees if its mountains you want. I did some years back drive a few mountain passes around Pau and Tarbes which were great roads. If you really wnat to go to Monaco,(huge mileage away!) I would recommend the Novotel there, if booked early enough it can be cheap(ish) and has a supercar accessible car park beneath it.
