Car Fest 2013

Well done to everyone for getting your payments in. Funds have been transferred to the event organisers and the list of car registrations/names sent off. The attendee and cost lists on the first page of this thread (LINK) have been updated - We're all green!

The next step is to wait for the tickets to arrive. Once they turn up we'll be posting them out to the postal addresses taken from the PayPal donation transaction information. We already know that Roysthino's address is different, but if anyone else has a different address other than what's listed on PayPal, please let me know.

Given that it's only 3-4 weeks until the Care Fest North event, worse come to the worse, the tickets will be with me as I am attending the full three days.

I got given a hand-me-down tent from a chap at work. I put it up at the weekend.

It measures 6m long, 5m wide and about 7 foot headroom. I think it might be a bit on the large size... and given that the pitches are 6m x 6m, do you think I so find something smaller? First time I've been camping since I was a kid.

Important

The Car Fest events are drawing near and the latest attendee figures from the organisers are approx 8000 weekend campers, 8000 visitors on the Friday and 12,000 visitors for both Saturday and Sunday!

We have been issued with a few documents that I'd need those of us that are attending to read through.

Car Fest Site Rules

The site rules are mainly applicable to site workers, staff and vendors, but some sections are very relevant to us exhibitors.

Car Fest South Club Manual

These manuals give us much more detailed information on the opening and closing times of the event.

The important thing to note is the arrival times for each day. I will try and summarise:

NORTH/SOUTH
Thursday - Arrive 12:00hrs - 21:00hrs
Friday - Arrive 07:00hrs - 09:00hrs NO ACCESS AFTER 09:00!!!
Friday - Depart 190hrs - 22.30hrs
Saturday - Arrive 07:00hrs - 08:00hrs NO ACCESS AFTER 08:00!!!
Saturday - Depart 190hrs - 23.00hrs
Sunday - Arrive 07:00hrs - 08:00hrs NO ACCESS AFTER 08:00!!!
Sunday - Depart 190hrs - 22.00hrs

There will be NO (departure) vehicle movement until after 190hrs

This is a massive event for the us and it will give us great exposure to both the club and the vehicles attending. It's really important we put on a good show (like we did at Kimbolton) and that every one arrives nice and early!

It's a 2.5 hour drive from Hull to Oulton Park. That would have got you there about 100 - 11ish if you docking at 8am

You can still attend with your exhibitors pass, but it means that your car is unlikely to be on display.

I can't see RAOC filling the Friday North places with the early start for what is effectively a half day show. Hope you guys have better luck. What I have on offer is one three day pass for the North Show for £76 (Car + 2 occupants all weekend). I'll be joining you guys in the South

Yes of course - will be great for you to attend. We might be able to sweet-talk the organisers/marshals to get your car on the stand. But the gates to the public open at 10am and you'd have to be escorted.

Just a quick update - I have spoken to the organisers this morning and they have assured me that the cars passes will be posted out to me today. As soon as they arrive, I will forward them on to you all. It's cutting it a little fine with a week to go before Car Fest North - but if there are any problems, the organisers have said we can sort something out to collect them at the venue.

My understanding is they are sending the car passes out in advance not the tickets. The coordinator must collect the tickets each day and they will be allocated according to how many cars are on the stand at the point of collection.

The wristbands are different colours for each day so they will not need to be handed back.

Hopefully no-one will check exact car numbers at time of issue and they will just give out 14 tickets per day to make it easy for any late comers but who knows.
