car failed mot

New Member
the vee failed its test due to 2 rear tyres down to the cords on the inside only done 4000 on them last time i looked in great shape however the engine has been out in that time ?

That is pretty fast wear Ray for only 4k miles so must be due to tracking as I don't expect you are the traffic light garnd prix kind of guy :race:

oh that sounds about right tim however that was not made apparent to me and he is no longer trading so i have no recourse

I think those of us that went to Motech were OK as the way they do the cambelt, in our cases, means the tracking is not affected - for the very reason that if you undo all the suspension parts (which is not necessary to do) then you can screw up the tracking which adds additional cost or, maybe as in your case Ray, you just didn't know there might be an issue and you weren't told either ...

Must admit I've always asked whenever I've had something done on the back end of the Vee to confirm whether anything was done at the hub end of things that might affect the geometry just to make sure. Would have thought that if toe was out that much on the rear you might have felt it since clearly the rear geometry is key to the way the car feels!?

I did get caught out on the fronts at MOT last year since obviously with standard front geometry you do scrub out the insides. I always keep a bit of an eye on them, but then come the day I hadn't been looking quite closely enough .

i have lived and learned and yes shit does happen, some one once told me never assume anything and always think you are dealing with idiots that way you wont go to far wrong

RAY, i have a pair of rear tyres that you can gladly have, they are mich pilot sports, not much tread on em but an mot pass, thats the important bit.

you dont forget much do you brett neither do i surprised you havent had your leash yanked  only kidding

it obvious it span up due to no fecking tread on it , on another note i see you never took me up on my offer to explain things to you i presume your happy with just one side of the story? or are you under orders lol heh seriously give me a call mate :approve:

just had new tyres put on for test . when the car was put back together top tuner did not even bother to re align car 150 mile trip home tyres fecked what a twat
