Cant polish a turd???....yeah what ever!

Crackin engine that, I have a mate with an S4 running 550/550 after plenty of MRC work. Might tell him to have a gander at your thread.

I know at the moment the thread looks a little boring Iain but I will put a few pics up this weekend. I'm thinking of contacting MRC to see if they will give my engine and gearbox a good service and belt change before it goes in. Luckily I only live 25 minutes from Banbury.

Searching the VAG forums you might find his car and the work done to it, username will most likely be milkybarkid or something like that. Fastest thing I will likely ever drive.

S4 at 550/550 will have had pleeeeennnty of work done. Sounds immense. :approve:

Will be booking a slot at MRC in the next couple of weeks for a health check etc Brett so will let you know and we can go for a spin (hopefully not literally) afterwards.

That sounds great fella. Would be interesting as initially mine will be slightly less powerfull than yours due to the poxy K03's but the clio will be around 400kg lighter than the audi. Funny you mention the MAF sensor. I need one for mine. Will probably get an RS4 type.

MAF sensor malarky seems to be a common issue. The MAF is not usually faulty (although it can be) just any spec of dust etc throws a fault code up. With the increased amount of air flowing through the system with boost upped the chances of this happenning are increased so the more 'faults' you get. Regular cleaning with electrical contact spray removes the issue apparently.

Oh and, if the MAF does turn out to be faulty, make sure you get a new one from an Audi dealer. Apparently the Chinese have well and truly gone to town so that the "genuine Bosch part" you get from a non-dealer/eBay is apparently not genuine at all and fails after a limited number of miles. Pleanty about it on AudiSRS (which I recommend you join by the way) amazing amount of knowledge there :approve:

That sound great Jon. Could sort you out for the ph2 wheels aswell. Might give that forum a go. Not sure if they would appreciate what I'm doing though! Lol

They're seem like a pretty good bunch. Sure there'll be some neysayers but that's their issue. There aren't any 'members only' sections like on here so nothing stopping you joining and then reading away to your hearts content. Pretty sure you'll find the answer to 95% of any questions just by lurking!

Car's all booked in at 10:30am on Friday 24th matey. Let me know if that suits :)

Well have done a couple of things this week. Fitted a new rear bumper without the center missing and picked up a set of oem ph2 wheels. I'll be tidying the engine bay tomorrow and probably cutting the original engine mounts off so its ready for its respray. After this this recent french trip, I'm torn between going all out with the bodywork which will make it very similar to Bill Patchall's or going back to Iceberg silver and making it look very much standard other than a twin turbo lump in the back.

Thank you Shaun for throwing the spanner in the works!

My plans for VE02VEE is more along the iceberg OEM+ route. I'm wholly happy with the power train. TimV6 made the cabin a very nice place to be, so that will essentially be kept unchanged for now. On my shoping list for 2013 is: 18" Mk Oz + spacers, Mk I rear lights and a Mk II spoiler (in lieu of the CF trophy-based spoiler).

Surely your twin-turbo lump deserves to be shoe-horned into Stevo's shell? :)

The Catalunya car would be quality with the the extra grunt. I know its not to everyone taste though. I might even be struck of the register for molesting my car this way! Hopefully that should change once people see how it goes around corners properly. One thing that shall be funny to see is a fully furnished vee piss pasting a stipped out trophy at the next anglo french big day. Lmao

First dibs on the passenger seat, I will take some brave pills ;)
