C>Lemon's Nominally Commercial 19 (first car)

I have to find out whether I need actual panels at all. If I don't, I might just get a can of that 640 silver and spraypaint the insides of the windows. I'm not sure. But I'm going to put the carpet back in today (rain stopped play yesterday) and when I hopefully get a set of Torx tomorrow, the mounts for the seats are coming out, if I can get at them. On the other hand I'm not positive that's necessary on older cars. We'll see how it goes.

yeah just spray the insides silver, thatd look great from the outside, im not certain if you need to put dud panels in aswell but i have a feeling that the mounts may need to go

That would be cool alright. By the way is 640 always that colour or does it only apply to Renault colours?

(RE: seat mounts: I'll have to check that with the mechanic again.)

as far as i know it'll be a renault brand, regardless youll get it in a spray can in halfords under the name Iceberg Met Silver. bout 7.99 for a large can, if theyve got none there they can mix spraycans up for you there. Ref the seat mounts and all im pretty certain that the holes and all have to be welded up. To the best of my knowledge you dont have to put in dud panels or anything just colour the windows is all

OK, that's useful. I'll have to check Halford's in Limerick for that. Or there's a shop in Ennis that does spray paint for cars in small cans.

Hmm, welding could be a problem. I'll see what I can do there.

well i doubt itll be scrutinized that much so you could prob get a pack of that soft metal crap that hardenes up and plug the holes with that then sand and spray, that'd prob get you through the doe anyway

be positive mate, it's the e7j, it lives forever
it's not essential to use a hose when flushing, i think it's better but not essential, did a pipe split on you or the bottle when it sprayed everywhere or did you have the cap off, no water should escape at all really from it unless one of those incidents occured

@Chris H: My thoughts exactly, but anything I do's an adventure, and if it works that's only a bonus. :D

@bncrew: Hmm. That's interesting. I'll have to check that out.

i imagine i have most of the pipes somewhere here, also radiator and probably the coolant bottle too

No-picture update again, sorry. But the pictures for yesterday are up.

All cynicism, including mine, aside, I have to feel good after today. It was easy work that improved the car's look considerably.

so is the rad completely drained or have you put in some coolant mix? Very satisfying job!
