Boot bag

So after missing out on a clio v6.net boot bag on eBay I thought I’d have a look round for something similar. The solution?

£5 ALDI boot tidy fits perfectly!

Looks very similar product (if not identical) to the original group buy.

I was surprised how strong the eBay bidding was on that item too...

Damn useful acquisition though!

Yes went for decent money that bag. I had to stuff this one from ALDI full of towels for a couple of weeks to get it to go into shape though. Was considering getting it retrimmed with some original seat material.

Few options out there that could be revisited.

There seem to be more choice nowadays. The original group buy product was a good colour match and fitted well - not the sturdiest though. Room for improvement perhaps?

I recall having a very long bag that fitted behind the shelf and net, was very handy for extras at car shows.

You can get them unbranded and I'm sure a local printing/embroidery company can stitch on any logo you want on it

My cousin has a printing/embroidery company so if there's enough interest I can ask the question

I organised the original group buy & embroidery.

My advice would be to use the already mentioned boot bags for now (without embroidery) and try to find a much better base product for the next project...

...a V6 luggage set would be pretty cool.

I was bidding on the one on ebay but i wasn’t paying that for it. So i bought this one. Much cheaper and it has velcro too so sits in the boot nice. I put my spare coils in there along with spare oils, very handy.

I don’t quite understand why the original group buy thread is no longer in the ‘old group buys’. I think it would’ve served as a marker for those bidding and those looking for ideas.

I’m trying to find that old topic, I think that forum was archived in some way a long time ago, but I have a vague memory that someone PMd me asking for that bag topic to be removed, I think someone much later on got hold of some bags then sold them all and wanted the topic gone.

I notice there aren’t many topics in the current group buys forum.

Wow that was mark-up on the eBay one [smilie=icon_eek.gif]
Some good ideas on here for people now if they are after something similar.

Yes, however these were designed to be a bonus offer to attract attendees to an OrigineRS event. Best described as a loss-leader.

I won’t be commissioning any more, so there remains something poignant about the brief production run. The OrigineRS Goodwood events remain the most memorable and fun that I attended as a V6 owner.

Yes Kett. Short production run models are interesting, but of course there’s always a little wiggle room for phase 2 improvements. :)

The burger bar was very tasty at https://originers.com/ Goodwood.
Shame about that weblink... aren’t domain names pretty cheap to secure?

Phase 2 improvements could be a decent luggage-set that I mooted earlier. One of my bugbears about touring in the Vee is knowing which hold-alls will fit. Funny that Renault didn’t oblige, as they often cite that the design brief was GT specification.

I’m thinking x3 of the same dimensions boot bags (possibly marginally taller) and more rigid (using quality materials). Ph2 ‘carpet grey’ or ‘black’. Plus a squishy waterproof rucksack number for the front boot. Embossed with an RS logo.
