Hi all,

I thought it's about time i started my own topic thread about the 225 and keep it updated off course!
So i wanted something bigger after my Flamer 172 and when i put it for sale someone contacted me and to make a long story short i've got his 225 and he got my flamer (which i still miss for some odd reason!)

i'll let the pic's do the talking ;)

This is the old Flamer and it was in very mint condition!

And when i traded her in this is how the Meg looked, fully standard 225 lux all options except Xenon. It has a stage 1 map and backbox chop, photos were taken after a 2 stage polish she was definitely in need of some TLC

First mod on the car was a set of the highly rated Cooksport springs and after fitted i gave her a bath again, at this time she also received a new timing belt with waterpump and everything else needed for service

So the next mods were the short shift kit and a large AIRTEC fmic also i got the wheels sprayed in the same color as the car

Then it was time to drive and enjoy it for a while, but as you all know how things go, we all got the itch to 'mod' something on the car every now and then ;-)

So recent things i've done make the car look so much more like a proper hot hatch compared to a standard ph1 225, i went completely nuts and retro fit xenon's and modified a set of RHD Xenon's to LHD complete working with all sensor etc.
Then i found a set of R26.R wheels which are gonna be refurbed this winter. Then my wife bought me a R26.R spoiler for my birthday (she's a keeper now lol) and i've got my Brembo's refurbed, which i got back from the sprayshop last week and they're gonna be fitted along with braided brake hoses CL5+ brake pads and ATE Super Blue brake fluid, still not sure if i wait with fitting them all till after winter or throw everything on after the calipers got the GTECHNIQ Serum coating. Also bought a brand new R26.R gear knob incl gaitor, price was
That's it for now, time to save some money for full exhaust and maybe 250 or hybrid turbo incl map etc

What you need to know mate, at one point Renault delivered me the wrong loom, which turned out to be the PH2 Xenon loom, so you can get that off me for a nice price if you want to go the xenon route

You'll need the ballasts and cables the loom from your fusebox under the hood to your headlights, then th leveling sensors one in your wheel arche in passenger site (rhd cars) and then you'll need the leveling sensor on your rear axle, which will need an extension loom, the connector itself sits under your backseat there you see the acces point to your fuel pump it's hidden under there.

Anything you want to know just ask as i've been there and done it all

I need a ph2 xenon loom I think.
Ill need the ballasts too, as well as levelling sensors and the extension loom as well as lamps.

I guess this could get expensive quick !

Well i don't now for sure but you could check if you're headlights have the leveling motors fitted, this is different from a PH1 where i needed complete different headlights, the loom i have is the PH2 one, the leveling sensors where €180 together i believe and the extension loom €60, the ballasts...well try to find them 2nd hand as i needed a new one and set me back €230,- prices are around the same from Ads, the cables from ballast to xenon bulb are another €200 a piece so if you can sort the ballasts and cables 2nd hand it wouldn't cost you more then around 2-300gbp i think

The loom costs me €120,- i'll post it to you for 60gbp if you want it, it's brand new

Very nice - I like the brake calipers. I've got a Black Gold ph2 Lux with just about every option, including xenons. I think the only things 'missing' on mine are heated seats, and rear airbags.

Paul, thinking about it my lights do have the motors. I assume these are the ones that allow you to point the lights higher and lower depending on if you have any fatties in the back ?

Down to interpretation but the MOT changes in 2012 mentioned light conversions. Have highlighted the line that may be applicable.
That could be taken as the auto-levelling system is required to be fitted.
MOT Muppets said:
Products on the lens or light source that obviously reduce the light’s intensity or change its colour will become a reason for failure – applies to front/rear position lamps, registration plate lamps, stop lamps, rear fog and direction indicators,
Headlight requirements are updated to take account of the particular characteristics of High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps.
HID headlights can cause dazzle if they are dirty or aimed too high so car manufacturers must fit headlamp cleaning and levelling systems. A car will fail if a mandatory headlamp cleaning or levelling system is missing, doesn’t work or is obviously defective.
Vehicles fitted with aftermarket HID systems must also be fitted with properly working washer and levelling systems.
If a headlamp bulb is not seated correctly the resulting beam pattern will be indistinct and this will result in a test fail.

the ph2 meg has washers as standard. The levelling system I am enquiring about as I am able to manually adjust my non xenon lamps currently

Wel time to update this thread, i've done quite a few bits since my last update:
- Fitted the Brembo's
- ATE Superblue (cazan 330 discs and Ferodo 1.11 next month)
- RSTuning 3" decat
- KTEC 3" catback exhaust
- R25 F1 seats
- TPI Wheels bolts
- R26.R wheels resprayed
- Fully detailed and protected with GTechniq C1 + EXOv2
Gonna make some decent pic's soon!
Going to RSTuning when time allows after i've fitted my Meg 250 turbo and 630cc injectors, quite busy now as a fresh dad!
