Can report she’s well ready for a trip to France
Friday 30th September arrived and
@Nick Kettle and I left for Paris. With a long drive ahead, we had to start at McDonald’s for a drive-thru breakfast and a Coffee

️:

Drive down to Kent was super easy, as the M25/Dartford Crossing was behaving itself. We made really good time, and thanks to the location sharing on WhatsApp, we could see how
@DaveL485 &
@Spooky we’re we’re doing:

We were doing great for time, so stopped of at the usual Tesco Ashford, for a quick top up of MOMENTUM

️

Before we knew it, we arrived at the EuroTunnel terminal and we’re ushered thru to the Flexiplus Lounge:

WHICH WAS BLOODY FANTASTIC!!! Free food and drinks and just board on the next train you fancy!!

Definitely going to pay the extra next time I travel, just so much nicer!! After a good lunch, we went and boarded the train, and we’re in France in a flash!
When we arrived we made our way to the services, and met up with
@Jesus and his mate Dave:

Some moments later,
@DaveL485, Lee,
@Spooky arrived, and we set out for Paris:

Journey went really smoothly, and it was more fun as
@Nick Kettle bought enough walk-in talkie’s for us all to use on the journey, so we could keep in touch. Before too long, we had sight of the Eiffel Tower!!

And made out way round the west Outer Peripherique ringroad. Which for a Friday evening wasn’t too bad at all!! There was an INSANELY long tunnel which was also very low which gave us plenty of time for the full exhaust tone extravaganza!!

We soon arrived at the hotel with no issues!!

So it was a quick freshen up, and down to the bar for a few:

And a group dinner:
Next day was the main show and I wanted to make sure I turned up with a nice clean car, so
@Moggy @Nick Kettle and I were the only ones up at 7:00 for the car-wash club:

Once we figured out how to get more change from the vending machine, it wasn’t such a rush to wash out cars!

Back to the hotel for breakfast, then off to the show, which was FANTASTIC!!!!
We got a chance to do two parade laps around the HEAVILY BANKED circuit:

Some of us entered the Concours D’Elegance, and even I got out-Raidered that day by one of the EBS Cabby guys:

Next morning it was time to head for home for
@Jesus Lee and I:

The Eurotunnel home was great and we got talking to the guy in the car behind us (who we now know as
@sparkeyjlee as he’s joined the club following our meeting) about my Raider, and he mentioned it was his dream car when he was a lad. Unfortunately for him he only got as far as a Vauxhall Nova.
Crazy thing was, only a few minutes later, a chap walked by and commented he was in a bloody Nova in the carriage behind!! Of course we had to go for a nosey:
@Nick Kettle and I finally got back to mine at 15:00:

With the car covering a grand total of 727 miles over the weekend:
This weekend re-confirmed how much I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS CAR

I was a little apprehensive ahead of the weekend away that I might have gone off her a bit what with all that newer Renaultsport Goodness I have and listening to
@Brigsy saying he sold his Tungy as it just didn’t compare to the more modern stuff… I didn’t feel like that once. Just the love shown for the cars from the French drivers giving us the

and

signs as they passed us was crazy… added to the love I have for the car, it was just unbeatable..!!
She was just as good as gold for the whole trip, but I would be lying to say it was totally fault free, we had to clean out the idle jet on the Eurotunnel train home as she didn’t want to idle when we got back to the train, and it sounds like I’ve got a wheel bearing on the way out, so I’ve ordered a new pair of front bearings to fit over winter.
Following her latest adventure, I locked her away back in the garage to rest and prepare for her winter maintenance:
Thank you Raider… you’re a legend.
