Megane Big Steve's Megane R26 #1241 - The Clickorus!

Gave the old Clickorus a little loving last weekend and fitted a pair of lowered subframes to the OE Recaro seats. Even though the Recaro seats in the R26 are a little lower than the standard seats, they still feel REALLY high when you're sat in the car.

Here's a comparison photo showing how much the heigh of the seat is reduced with the new subframes. (New one on Left):

Here's a before & after picture I took:

So? Any good??

#FUCKINGHELLYES! :greatscott:

I can't believe just how much better it feels to be sat 63mm lower in the car! I can now no-longer see the bonnet whilst sat in the car, it feels like a proper race car now. Took it out for a little ride and was again really impressed with how it drove!!

Dare I say I'm loving this car again??

Jon Foz subframes, they don't alf make a difference. I hate sitting 'on or over' a car I like to sit low too, better centre of gravity.
100% correct @Ricardo, they are indeed Jon Foz ones. :bf:

I (like other people) was baulking at the price of them to begin with, but when you see them, you realise your money is well spent!!

Got the Megane back from a local garage recently after they had a go at fixing the AIR-CON... again :an: Thankfully it looks like they achieved it this time!! :bx:

So I thought I would give her a PROPER birthday on Saturday ALL DAY as I'm still waiting for some parts to continue on my 11T Restoration.
First I replaced the cracked rear lens with a new one I sourced off a guy breaking a LY R26 in Peterborough:

Then it was on to the main event of cleaning bloody EVERYTHING!!! You can see how the sun moves to prove the time it took...

But like all things, after all that effort, the old girl looked great for it!!

So @Millie_Bee and I had a drive to Sunny Hunny (Hunstanton) for the evening, and the olk Clickorus performed faultlessly including one of the longest dawdlers overtake EVER!!

Thanks for reading :)

Pulled the old Megane out of hibernation this morning and decided to have a drive around the north Norfolk coast with @Millie_Bee as we’d taken a few days holiday for the Dutch GTT Jolly that got cancelled like everything in 2020 due to Bat-Flu 🤬

Had a little trepidation in taking it from sitting on my drive for many months without turning a wheel, but decided to go for It!

Pumped the tyres up, checked the fluids, quick scratch wash at the local EEU wash centre, brimmed the tank with the old Shell V-Power and we were off...!

Back home now, and ~184 miles completed..

Well?..

BLOODY HELL I’D FORGOTTEN HOW GOOD SHE IS!!!!!!
  • Feels properly quick when you give it a bootful
  • Compilable enough to soak up the bumpy roads
  • Handles really well
Yes ill be honest, I’d kinda fell out of love with her a bit... but I’ve been VERY Impressed with her performance today! 💙💙

Of course, being a Renault not everything was plain sailing.. The Drivers side electric window is totally unresponsive, but I don’t think that’s too bad result given she’s just sat on my driveway since last years National Day weekend!!
