For sale, A very rare 5 Gordini built in 1982. This is NOT the turbo. It is the final facelift version with the beige interior (used by the 5 Turbo 2) so there can not be more than a handful of these left in the UK and less than 20 Gordinis from 1979 to 82. ( Howmanyleft.co.uk is showing only around 10 in total over those years.)
The 5 Gordini was actually the first RHD front wheel drive hot hatch on sale in the UK in 1979 as it beat the Golf GTi by 6 months in both LHD and RHD so a historic car.
It has been off the road since 1995, so 23 years, since the rear screen was smashed and bumper pulled off (which is still with the car) and so was put in storage to be mended one day and of course that day never came.
I bought it 8 months ago as it is in relatively good condition for the age and the restoration was going to be filmed as part of a project which has now been cancelled.
Therefore I am happy to pass it onto an enthusiast who would like to restore it to its former glory. I have a new V5 for it.
The mileage showing is under 71,000. The basic shell is in good condition and the sills are solid with no rust which obviously is an important fact.. Some of the panels will need replacing as you can see from the pictures.
The vast majority of the interior is also present as the car has not been dismantled at any point.
Now stored near Banbury near the M40 in a container.
Price wise just looking to get back about what I paid for it.
£4,000 or near offer.
Thanks
Graeme
