Despite the M40 being closed and being sent on a diversion into Oxford taking us 3hrs 15mins from Beaconsfield, had a great day. Thanks everyone that was able to attend this event, although it was noticeably quieter than previous years for some reason. Was great to see so many people there, and so many vee owners that attanded even if they were unable to bring their own cars for what-ever reason, Brett, Danny, Alpine Andy to name but 3 :bow:

Massive thanks to all those from Ruk that gave their time to help make this happen and supplying the hospitality tents and vans, and the cars!!! Awesome line up this year! :bow: . Chris (DayC) for organising the event, and of-course our own James and the ever helpful Dave who brings the tent etc, and whom always seems content to stand in the back ground while we enjoy ourselves.. thank you.

Had a great drive back too, with a somewhat impromptu stop for some food Thanks for leading the way Charlie. :approve:

Sorry to those I wasnt able to chat to properly or not at all, being held up getting there really did mess things up a little. So many people to chat to, and so little time. [smilie=icon_cry.gif]

Once I've found an appropriate sat. nav., shalll let you know Marky boy, so you can replace that shitter you have in your car that wouldnt work :rofl:

Shaun, a sat nav is a must - I never leave home without it! Being portable you can transfer it from one car to another without issue.

Mine is a Tom Tom One series (i.e. one of the earliest models) but it is still fit for purpose. The newer ones have more features but essentially they are all good. Tried Garmin for a while but gave up as it wasn't a match for the Tom Tom. Best thing is you can load up speed camera locations, including what type of camera, what speed limit is set to trigger at and, best of all, how far ahead is its location relative to your current position (upto 375 yards). I use this: LINK. The camera database is updated regularly. Haven't been snapped once after I started using this, and that was some years ago.

You could also load up points of interest (POIs) such as ATMs, car parks, hotels, Shell filling stations (use only VPower so very important to me) etc.

You could get maps for UK & Ireland and Continental Europe - may prove useful for the trip to Montlhery.

My tomtom has live traffic updates too. Never hit traffic jams apart from once when an accident literally happened 3 mins before I got to that point of the M6 so had no choice but sit in it. Shaun's route are usually very good if you want a good drive

I enjoyed the day very much ! Was lovely to meet all the new club members, and catch up with the regular gents and ladies.
