Attendance List - Now at... 40 v6's!

Fingers crossed its not raining!! I dont fancy a long drive up the motorway in rain followed by standing outside in the rain.

The forecast doesnt sound promising... But when has the the weatherman ever got it right!!

Trying to predict the UK whether 2 weeks in advance? Lol. They can barely get it close 2 days in advance.. Let's just see ;)

Out of interest as this is the first time I've attende what is there on the day? Stands, displays etc?

Dont expect FCS or Kimbolton Matt.. However, like previous years, there will be reduced price access into the Heritage Motor Museum, RS Raffle (from Ruk), Food from the Hospitality tent, and a chance to meet other like mind Renault Sport enthusiasts.

This event is still in its infancy, and following the success the the first 2 years, promises to be a great meeting! [smilie=yay.gif]

Sounds good pal :approve:

Do we yet have any idea where and when we are all going to meet and convoy in? I guess us guys in the Bucks area could do most of the journey there together anyway?

Ian

Hi Ian..

Yes.. have a rough plan that i'm in the process of getting together and will post up ASAP. I imagine we'll be meeting in the proposed lay-by at 'about' 10 - 10.30. I plan to have a few meeting points en-route for those heading from the South. 8)

What a day.........heavy rain all day from start to finish - Hillingdon (Middlesex), Gaydon, Chester, Liverpool and back - so the weather forecast was spot on, and I certainly hope 5th May will be anything but!

I did manage to get off at J12 (M40) and visit the said lay-by on B4100 (see previous posts). I believe we could accommodate 42 Vees, and a trailer (with a Vee) and its tow-vehicle, quite comfortably provided there are no other vehicles about (see photos below - note how bleak it was weather wise):

Lay-by on B4100, as it appears on Google Maps (note Points A, B & C):

Entrance to lay-by, when approached via M40/J12 (Point A) - note gated entrance to the right, which we may have to keep clear:

Point B on map (narrowest point) - note puddles to the left of the picture (may not be able to park there if it is raining):

Point B on map (narrowest point) - note puddles to the right of the picture (may not be able to park there if it is raining):

Access road to Brightman Farm (Point C) - we may need to keep this clear:

Widest point (either side of Point C) - we could double park here:

Shaun, over to you............

I had a look today as well and we may be struggling there is nothing that close to Gaydon apart from Aston martins car pk that I don’t think we can use or the lay by. The Malt shovel inn only has parking for about 30 cars and the gaydon inn is bigger but the carpark has huge and I mean huge holes on the way in that i think we would leave most of our cars on.

The other option in the warwick motorway services. The south bound one is about a mile after the juct and about 3 miles before the next which is gaydon. The only problem is that north bound travellers will have to go about 4 miles north to come 3 miles back or vis versa if using the north services, although ample parking.

Just another option

a few miles out of the way is not too much of an issue with me. im happy with that but obviously its how everybody feels about this. It will make heads turn in the services too.

Has there every been such a gathering of vees in one place at one time?

Ian
Ps been putting a last few bits back on mine this eve. Its good to go now!

Dulan...

Thank you very much for going out of your way, and even going to the trouble of taking pictures too. I think the lay-by looks fine.. minus the water content ;)
So.. we'll be leaving here at 10.30 SHARP!

Will post up details of what service stations etc we shall be stopping off at en-route from the South over the weekend, for those that would like to join in the convoy North. :approve: :)

What's the postcode for the lay-by Shaun?

Who is coming down the m1 from the north?

Ta.

Do lay-by's have post codes.. :s

Head for the Gaydon Inn on the B4100, heading South.. The close by farm, Brightman Farms post code is CV35 0HQ

It's a lay-by set back from the main carriageway, behind some tall shrubs/hedge. See Dulan's pictures above. :-)

Indeed hope the weather is nothing like it was when the photos were taken.................

Shaun, would certainly like to join the convoy - Beaconsfield Services (on the A355, just off J2/M40) may be a good bet for those travelling up the A40 and M25 to meet up.
