Now to start building it back up.
I decided to buy bumper brackets rather than making them, to save myself a bit of time.
And finally, that section is done.
And that's me up to date!
That section was waaay more involved than I expected! It's done now though and I'm happy with the result. It's quite a milestone really as that's all down one side done. It feels like it's taken me an age, but I have enjoyed it so far. I must be almost half way through the major fabrication work now actually.......aaand I'm sure I'll regret saying that!

The inner arch lip was nowhere near as bad as the other side so a quick clean up will suffice.
All was going well....too well in fact..........so storm Darragh decided to crash the party!
A good 1/4" of water throughout the whole garage. I was soooo gutted! everything was drenched, the car, tools, sheet metal! all that hard work felt like it was undone
After a good while spent in a grump, I realised i was being dramatic. I got the wet vac out and started the clean up. I reckon I emptied 20l out of there easy. The thing is, I cant even figure out how it got in! I think it must have been the combination of the wind and rain blowing under the roof & door.
It's taken a while but with the wet vac, a heater, a dehumidifier and regularly opening the door, it's pretty much dry again. All's well that ends well

Back to it...
One problem I then had with this side that I didn't have with the other. The original bumper mount has an indent which the original bracket is shaped to clear. The new brackets are flat. This meant the bracket didn't sit correctly, as seen below.
I decided to flatten out the indent on the original section. This makes it a closer match to the other side anyway, so I'm happy with that.
The bracket then sat much better.
Lick of primer and it's that section ticked off. Took a while but progress is progress.
Please ignore the runs

Can imagine the storm damage grump but glad nothing more serious and all sorted
As a bonus for me I still need to repair these front sections but as some areas have vaporised your pics will be a fantastic help

Yes, I think I’ve been fairly lucky with the storm damage. It’s possible that there’s unseen chaos. I’ll have to cross that bridge when I get to it.

That’s one of the coolest things about forums like this. You guys that have been contributing for years should be proud to have played an invaluable part in keeping these cars on the road. I would have struggled way more up to this point without it. Thanks for that
