and then there were 3!!

Il chance mine at a "above average" figure.... perhaps just shy of 10k (not that i need/want to sell)

Lets get the ball rolling

Not if we put them up at a price which we would be happy to sell at.. As then it's a genuine advert?

I could list mine for £18k and then if someone offered £18k I wouldn't sell so would be a fake ad,

£20k now there's a different matter...

I think It's got to happen naturally, which it is in the early stages of starting to happen at the moment.

IMO they should be priced and are worth more like:

phase one - 12-16 depending on condition & mileage.
Phase two - 15-25 depending on condition & mileage & colour.

That's around typical prices in 2008 and are closer to euro prices so i don't think it's too high.

The only ones that get hard to price are the cat-d ones or the dogs. If its due 4ks worth of servicing, them that knocks 4k off the price IMO.

If the prices in France are so strong I don't understand why they aren't over here ,you think how many are being bought and shipped abroad .they should be priced a lot stronger over here ,they are great rare cars so should be priced accordingly :approve:

I think it has to happen naturally, what percentage of UK Vees' owners are on here? I can't imagine it's that high.

The TVR guys managed it with the Sagaris as most of the owners were on a forum afaik. Now with the demise of TVR, and the fact it's a British car has made values of nearly all of them to creep up.

I think V6s will go up eventually, but at the minute I imagine most people with £20k in their pocket for a toy on the side would choose a Cayman or similar. I know a lot of my friends love my car, but would spend their money elsewhere, either a faster sports car (one is getting a Z4MC) or one with a better badge image (boxster, TT)

Also, isn't there about 280 Ph2 in the country still? Think of Turbo 1/2 values, they're much higher but I bet there are only tens of them here. Supply demand thing

Completely agree. Mine would be a genuine advert at a price i would actually sell it for. A straight, well maintained vee with no expense spared in terms of servicing etc should be selling for 10k upwards for a mk1 (max 15k if low mileage) and 15k upwards for a mk2.

I think the problem will always be that people are wanting to sell there cars in a short time space and not wanting them hanging around for months waiting for top dollar, advert then becomes stale and buyers think there could be something wrong with it eventually lowing the price just to get rid of it.
Don't get me wrong I would love to get 15k plus for mine but when I decide to sell mine it will be priced to sell

An LY advert could appear for this purpose (please note I'm not selling before I get a email)

LINK

The only genuine low mileage LY currently for sale on the continent €42,000 which is approx £35,000.

There is another at £24500 (€30,000) but with 3 times the mileage on it.

There is an RHD illiad resprayed LY for £15,800.

If prices stay the way they are now (ie to sell), they will keep on being exported, which will only naturally assist in pushing the UK prices up. :approve:

howmanyleft claims: ph1 = 114 & ph2 = 201 (not that this is totally accurate i know). This will drop when the quarter four results are published as a handfull more have gone abroad recently.

approx 300 club members = approx 95%.

In reality, its probably more like 70% allowing for inaccuracy and some members are not owners, but it indicates the majority are on board.

Wow that is higher than I imagined.

On howmanyleft it includes sorn vehicles, does it mean that registered plus sorn is the actual number, or that from the registered number 45 are sorn (Ph2 example)?

EDIT - it must be licensed plus sorn for actual numbers as the numbers of licensed cars fluctuate. So total cars are roughly 402 by their figures

Don't forget the 10 or so in Hong Kong that are right hand drive ph1 and usually lower miles ie below 50k

There are none for sale here at the mo plus the last ones sold were advertised at 10-12k - up from previous around 8k

Would think some of the recent press has helped eg top gear magazine recently

What might help is an article on one of the classic car mags since that's where alot of investors are researching and buying future classics? Maybe worth an email to their editors with the offer of loan cars for photo shoots etc :)

Note the classic car mags have been covering alot of the newer stuff lately eg tvr Cerbera just last month

Don't push me people... I havnt driven it properly for 2months while its in the garage... I've almost forgotten what its like to drive and I get pretty restless at this time of year and havent kept a car over a year in the last 4......
My huge worry is taking it out with prospective buyer and remembering the joys of the V!!
