Alpine GTA Turbo - V8 Europa Cup Style New Project

I can appreciate the work that goes into tailoring these but i'd like to ask why you didnt go for a GTX series? They're just a generation apart from anything else in spool, delivery, capability and drivability.
 
Because I didn't know that :0). Martin machines all parts to his own spec, he'd probably be able to give you an explanation if you asked him :0).
 
Is it Martin Faulks doing the work ? He builds some nice turbos for the gta's (y)
He's doing the new turbo for my 3.0 litre GTA but has no involvement in the V8. Guy who's doing it has been putting LS engines in Jensen Interceptors among other things.
 
Transaxle test fitted last week, threw up a couple of more issues. A small amount of the rear bumper needs to be trimmed as the bottom pulley sticks out a fair bit from the block and the standard water pump outlets are completely wrong so I'm going to buy an electric pump to make a much neater job off it and grab a few bhp in the process (like it needs them). Still pushing for a running car by the end of the month

Finally got a starter motor this week but we also had to order a Moroso electric water pump from the states , which is a lovely bit of kit but wasn't budgeted for and will be £500 plus once it goes through customs :0(. Subframe had all been strengthened and has gone off to powder coaters so soon as those bits are back then engine should get it's final fitting.

Bonus is they reckon it's worth up to 20 bhp - trouble is I've got more than I want already !

Also changing my mind about a Europa Cup style look, might go for something more demure like a dark gloss grey with black wheels maybe - needs to look hard :0) - any suggestions - Photoshop mock-ups appreciated - I'm shite at that stuff :0)
 
Bare engine is about 30 kg heavier but no turbo, manifolding or intercooler so probably less than 20 kg difference. Will move spare wheel to front too so that should make it very similar. It sits lower too so C of G lower too. It was more the near-on 500 ft/lbs of twist that concerned me rather than the weight :0).
