Hi all, has anyone upgraded the fronts of their Dinis to vented discs. You can buy upgraded group 2 solid discs, but surely there must be a simple upgrade, maybe modify a gt turbo front disc and caliper to suit. Any recommendations or guidance appreciated. Thanks Gary

Big job , proberbly not worth it unless it's for a race series , but in general for road cars.....Screenshot_2015-07-19-21-09-25~2.webp IMG_20150224_180717~2.webp
Ferodo DS3000 pads for the track are awsome, and DS2500 for the road are a massive upgrade, if you hanvnt already tried them and also reconditioned calipers are a surprising improvement as is a new master cylinder, flexible lines, not forgetting a good fluid, with this set up you will notice a marked improvement over standard , but they will need cooling ducts forsure.....

I can buy a310 vented discs which fit direct, but they usually run with a r17 caliper was wondering if the exiting calipers can be widened to tak a vented disc, used to buy widening kits for the old princess four pots, I intend to dismantle the caliper to see if a slide off a gt turbo will fit?

How big are the a310 discs?? Might be able to slip a small wilwood 4 pot caliper over with a custom bracket?? Rally design do loads of different sized calipers and not too expensive.

True above .... But the bearings are tiny as are the wishbone bushes, and 3x10mm wheel studs....

Renault solved the problem along with a few others by mounting the Renault 30 wishbones, dampers and hub to create the Renault 5 Turbo, and Mecca parts sell these remade.,
I think the gordini is great but Renault never raced it seriously as with other models, maybe they felt it had reached its potential, don't forget it is a 1960's Renault 4 ...... Underneath.....

Didnt they retained the 5 top wish bone, and modded them on the TDC and Cevennes to take coil over,

I think the vented discs are Renault 17TS - I think they go on with different carriers maybe? I've been trying to find out... My Dad has done it before.
But as Number 11 says, the racers used solid discs for decades. Although I don't think they used the brakes very much! ha

Renault 12 Gordini / A310 discs are the same £15 each on ebay. Renault 30 discs are bigger I think 254mm instead of 229mm.

search on Ebay "RENAULT R12 ALPINE (A310) 1972-1977"
Thanks, the annoying thing with most of these pis the pictures shows vented discs but when you contact them they are solids

They are making a good profit then!!
I converted mine to 4stud. I was gonna use some AP radial mount calipers. Not sure what the 5Coupe would of used, i guess maybe 12G or R16 calipers and carries.

I have also altered mine to 4 stud, and have opted for 5 gt turbo calipers and grooved dics for now, the car will not be rallied so they will suffice.
