Almost where I want it now.

Have a mate who owns a car detailing supplies company and he asked if he could have the car on his stand at the Waxstock event last weekend....where I got to meet Dawn...nice to meet you :approve:

He'll have it again this weekend at the Fitted show in Manchester so, if anyone from here is going, pop by and say hello :approve:

Not updated for a while but a few changes going off.

Despite my protestations that the car didn't need another rear spoiler, it now has one! If I'd not found out about the mounting base and managed to get hold of one, I wouldn't have bothered. Wasn't impressed with how they mounted and the lack of sturdiness of them however, with a mounting base the thing is now solid.

Managed to source a set of new (to me ) wheels and some brake cooling ducts. Never in a million years am I going to need any brake cooling but like the looks.

Was hoping to get all finished yesterday but time wasn't on our side! Anyhow ducts sorted, tyre decals applied and wheels will go on tomorrow, few other small bits will also be finished off.

Awesome, how did you fit the ducts mate? I have a set with a splitter too, but I cant fit them until I sort out my entry entrance dip and the ramp out of the garage!

Turned out to a meet at Carsington this morning, bit on the chilly side though.... -6 when I got there!

Once the road salt started going down the car was going to be left in the garage however, I think Derbyshire CC are planning on using no more than a bucketful as haven't seen any anywhere.

So out of the garage it came :race:

Went to a morning meet yesterday at Donington Park, there was a huge turnout of cars.

Couple of pics that have turned up.....it still amazes me how much attention these cars get.

Have had another idea, maybe a mad one......

Reading on another thread re engine covers. it was mentioned about running no engine covers at all.

Now toying with looking into this and possibly after a little advice....has anyone run their car like that? If I went ahead there would be a perspex bulkhead and likely a complete rear perspex engine cover. The car currently has a perspex cover instead of the oem hatch bit. When it first went on the noise got a bit annoying so only put it on if going to an event or similar....soon grew to like the noise and have ran for approx 1 yr now.

Does anyone have a pic of the rear of a Ph1 with the complete covers off? Does it look a bit of a mess underneath them?.......is it a bit like a fat bird, best left covered up?

I think that if it looked tidy it would suit the look the car now has.

Before I get asked, if I decide to run without the covers, they won't be sold :)

Just for reference, heres a ph1 with no covers.

it does look a little rough as there are wires etc, but the worse bit is that it means you have to detail the engine, which gets dirty nearly everytime you drive it.

depends on what you use it for! It would show of its party piece nicely if all on view.

The 'no engine cover' idea has been binned, I'd have problems making the ends of the rear pillar plastic covers look finished and, if it didn't look neatly finished I wouldn't be happy with it.

In the meantime though I've managed to find a 2nd set of Cromodoras, they're likely to end up being repainted in a fetching shade of yellow 8)

Had a few PS pics done in various colours...red, graphite, blue ....and yellow. Yellow won.

Totally undecided!

Fortunately due to doing a job for a mate until 20th June (this retirement lark is going well) I won't be able to collect the wheels until after then, gives me plenty of time to remain undecided!
