ADRIAN FLUX...? MORE LIKE ADRIAN F***-WITS....

Hi Guys,

You all remember the saga I had trying to find car insurance for my Vee right.? Then I eventually stayed with Adrian Flux - even though I had 2 formers policies with them for my Cooper S and then my 182...and had endured sh*t loads of issues with their admin people saying they had not had my imobiliser declaration forms etc.,

Well, I got back from the gym late last night and they had sent me a letter saying that because I had not sent them proof of my tracker they have CANCELLED yes, CANCELLED my policy with them and refunded my payment onto my credit card...    ?????????????? WTF..?????????  Narrrr......must be some mistake I thought...???

Now, would that be the Tracker form that I sent back to you by REGISTERED POST in May, because the preivous 7 times that I had faxed it through to your incompetent set of monkeys in the office, they never actually managed to get it onto my file and register it..?????  (BTW,. this is on top of the 24 yes, 24 times I sent them copies of my immobiliser declaration form back, and they swore blind I hadn't actually sent it to them..??!!!  Which in the end I wrote the mother of all complaint letters to their Ops Director, which resulted in a letter of apology and a months free insurance...as they conveniently found it.... )

I am more annoyed/furious at the fact, that for the last 3 days, I have been driving round in a £26K car, with no INSURANCE and on top of that the car has been parked outside my house in the middle of no-where and at any point during that time, it could have been stolen and I wouldn't have had a leg to stand on with regards to claims....worse still, what would have happened if I had hit a person or knocked them over, especially in this day of 'where there's blame there's a claim' culture...

...no phone call to forewarn me, no letter to forewarn me, just a cancelled policy letter. I am beyond annoyed....I now have to VERY quickly find an alternative insurance policy before I can drive my car again.... I've got a good mind to raise this with the insurance Ombudsman I am that disgusted.....if I hadn't had 2 years worth of issues with these muppets beforehand, I'd be looking at this in a different light with a different attitude....BUT THEY HAVE CONSISTENTLY PROVED TO BE A BUNCH OF INCOMPETENT F***-WITS.....

I'd go and pour a large drink if I actually drunk alcohol....

Back to the painful insurance drawing board.....

Sounds like fun :(

I seriously worry about the day that I have to use an insurance company when I have to claim. They will always shaft you over in some way.

All a bit worrying.....they're the cheapest I can find (£588), and by £60...dilema...do I save the money or go to the next cheapest (Elephant) for potentially better customer service?

Let me tell you my friend, knowing what I know now, and what I have had to put up with over the last 2/3 years with them, no longer am I going to be making my decisions solely on price in the future....this is a 'classic' example of 'cheapest' not being the best...customer service has to feature heavily in the decision making process -

Adrian f***-wits are a classic example of there being no margin left in their prices to support the end customer should something go wrong - imagine if you had to make a claim..?? I dread to even think about it....go with Elephant - I would without a shadow of a doubt....

Jainey,

Sorry to hear of the way you have been treated. Not all insurance companies are like this.

I have heard lots of dodgy things about Adrian Flux anyway about doging claims and the best yet, never sending out policies just cover notes - as they hadn't registered the policies with the underwriters.

Ditch em.

Try Sky Insurance - I have been with them a while and they do good two-car deals i.e. mirroring bonus etc. and excellent modified car policies for anyone with modified cars. Speak to Jay.

Also Dorset insurance

http://www.dorsetinsurancegroup.co.uk, was with them for a couple of years to and they dealt with a claim for me - which is always a good test of an insurance company.

Good luck.

Thanks Martin - do you know, you have actually got something there with Adrian Flux - in all the years I have been with them, all I have ever had from them is cover notes.....??????

In fact, when I paid them in FULL in May for the Vee, all I have received is a cover note for 90 DAYS...I STILL haven't got my full policy through regardless of the fact that I have paid upfront.

I am totally SHOCKED....thanks for the heads-up - as far as I am concerned I will do everything in my power to ensure that no-one I know will EVER take a policy out with these cowboys ever again...

Cheers Martin, I will try Sky and Dorset....much appreciated :D

I'd report them to the insurance ombudsmen tbh. They sound like a total bunch of muppets to me :x

I'd try elephant (part of bell & admiral) i've been with them for years & they seem to know what they are on about. :)

Elephant used to be OK for me until I moved to Japanese imports, they don't like em.

I currently use Sky for my GT4 and also my V6. They mirrored the bonus so my two policies now have full no claims. I can also mod the GT4 as much as I like as Sky are mod friendly and also know and like performance cars ;-)

I have gone past the point of bargain hunting cause when it comes to claiming, heaven forbid, you need to be able to rely on these people and if they know you by name that is a good start.

Just found this, person had issues with missing documents.

With regards to cover notes, I have heard of some brokers withholding full policy documents if you pay by DD or installments so bear that in mind - a cover note can be issued to prevent you cancelling your payments and retaining a policy document. Not much use in this day and age with a national DB of policies which the feds and insurance companies using.
