Hello all, So the time has come yet again to insure 3 of my vehicles. The last last 12 months i had been with flux but all i can say is what a dissapointment they are. The quote they had given me this year wasnt terrible but their customer service is crap. I wont go into details but asking me how much i am paying else where after giving them the oppotunity to answer my earlier questions none of which by the way reflected in the quote they gave me just made my mind up to go else where as they havent got a scooby doo comes to mind . oh and having to wait on average 10 mins plus every time you call them sucks too. So i am trying hagerty for the vee this year. i spoke to a very enthusiastic fella there called Charlie who seemed to be a complete car nut and was quite happy to talk about agreed value to put my mind at rest god forbid any thing happen to number 955. As for the family volvo dog car and the 65 plate Vxr Astra Admiral will do. Sorry if i have affended any flux fans they seem fab at insuring a whole host of stuff but i dont think i will be going back :(

Good move Jim. I took out insurance for my fleet of classics with them 3 years ago and they are so easy to deal with, very knowledgeable and Charlie is a real gent! When I bought my Ph2 Vee last year I was surprised that they were happy to insure it on my 'group' classic car policy, and it cost around £25 or thereabouts for the remainder of the policy, which was a few months or so.

More importantly, I've known a few who have had to make a claim from them, and Hagerty worked hard to accommodate a couple of unusual claims. For example, a mate had an engine fire in his Escort Twincam, resulting in a lot of small but very rare bits being destroyed, and the engine bay / front half of the car with blackened and peeling paint. As the car was a previous show winner, they accepted the claim to have the car stripped to the bare shell and completely repainted, as well as accepting 'ebay' prices for some of the super-rare stuff. They gave him a cheque for the agreed amount, enabling him to collect the bits needed over time, and find the best guys to complete the bodywork.

Most insurance companies really don't understand the classic car market and just apply a standard process for claims. Hagerty know their stuff and I'm sure they provide the best and most knowledgeable service for owners of rare and classic cars. And all for a very competitive price!

There is a few enthuasts at flux but they do have a hell of a lot of staff that work there so a lot probably aren't. I'm local to them so have a few mates that work there and sort everything for me so I don't have to deal with the wait times on the phone.

I have had mates ring and ask me about colours and rarity before when other people have been after agreed values so some of them understand. I use them as it's very convinent and I have always been looked after.

I also noticed your Norwich. Do you ever get out much in your vee. Iv never seen your car at anything local?

I have never insured a vehicle with Adrian Flux, but have tried a few other classic car insurers before settling with Hagerty, who I have now been with for 10+ years.

Hagerty have been very flexible and accommodating - an email is all that it takes to arrange and/or make changes to my multi-car policy where each car is insured on an agreed-value basis, and I only use the phone to pay the annual premium. My cars are stored at multiple locations, including one that is in bits (i.e. a shell and boxes of parts). Hagerty had no problem insuring the latter from the point the stuff was loaded onto a trailer in Spain.

Having said that I haven't had to make a claim as yet, and I hope I don't have to, but good to hear that there is nothing to worry about on that front too.

Hi there , it would be nice to do some meets over here in the east as every thing organised seems to always be a good few hours from us tractor/ combine driving norfolk folk. :) I wish i had more time for local car meets but with work commitments and two young children its hard to find the time for events etc. But if you you would like to meet up one afternoon for a b road blast that would be great. Instead of "the Lakes" we could do "the Broads" lol lets see who we can round up :)

There's a few vees in the area but everyone seems to be busy all the time. My favourite local meet is at snetterton on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. They are finished for this year but should be back next spring / summer. There's a couple of other vees I know of that have turned up as well so potential for a gathering.

Hi,
I'm really sorry that that you have been disappointed with our service over the year. I can assure you that we do take customer service very seriously and I will pass your comments on to our customer service manager for his thoughts.
Regards,
Dan.
