Clio Adey's Clio 172 Turbo (project 250bhp per tonne)

What i meant was age as in use/abuse and poor maintenance in the life of the engine. Rather than they are old so falling apart if that makes sense. At 16 years old it would be a struggle to know if it was cared for all its life. Revs do tend to kill them, above stock rpm 7200+ it was common to chuck arp bolts in the clios. This had a lower limit of 7000. Personally i have ran 7650 on stock engine and valve train with just ITBs fitted. The supercharged one ran to 7400 i think and that was on 100k and all original parts. win some you loose some.

I couldn't believe the ex's 182 reached over 180k. Bought on 105k and i did all the oil changes myself, and there was the odd occasion she told me oil was below minium! It was still running fine when it was sold on.
It was using oil, but no more than my old H22 in the prelude ans Accord.
