Clio Adey's Clio 172 Turbo (project 250bhp per tonne)

Not much done to the shit kicker but it had a little start on its diet. Plenty more to come out yet though.

Suspension is also off the twingo and effectively ready for fitting though I'm tempted to sell it and get the clio specific kit with the all in one rear coilover rather than separate coil and damper arrangement

This morning the battery decided enough was enough, its old and with being moved to the boot i think it was starting to struggle. All checks out fine and charges at 14.8 volts when running but if it doesn't catch on the first strike (when it struggles) it has nothing left to give. New battery on order with higher cranking amps to try and help out. Stick the jump leads on and all is fine though so i think its just had enough? All connections re made and checked so hopefully the new unit will sort it.

Mate honestly brasic. I just jump on cheap bits as soon as they come up, quicker than mart jumps in a blue jumper. Time is also limited, like 30min here and there, I prep a lot to reduce time needed when I get the chance to work too. Tools set ready and stuff. The family certainly drains plenty lol, why I need to sell the twingo rather than swap the engine from this into it (y)

Pmsl, that jumper sure is famous!

I have a garage with god knows how many tools, wall to wall racking.....cant find anything

Dam you and that prep work

Sure my cause not helped by my 30mins here and there either work cr*p or house jobs

Do not do any serious DIY if you have 3 boys 5 and under while living in the house.......it will effect your mental state

DIY is something that i do not partake in lightly, cant stand it, hate it infact!!Though i did build in custom built in bed for the little girl a few months back. Im the typical man who's asked by the Mrs to put a shelf up, and shes lucky if its done in 6 months lol

Wishbones were delivered today though I've received an email saying there is a 2 week wait on my suspension. That sucks a bit. Managed to find a modified scenic shifter for sale on cliosport so that was ordered up. Brings the shifter height up and shortens the throw a touch, same as I fitted on the trophy.

Few bits picked up from the local scrap yard that has 2 172s in. Great for me now these have reached the age of being disposable. Resistor pack picked up so i now have heaters that work, some clear front indicators and a fuel pump seal and locking ring.

Thing is ive now found that the leak is coming from the return line to the tank. Its been modifed with a pipe drilled through the top. As soon as there is a decent amount of fuel in there it pisses out..... a friend locally has a ph1 fuel pump setup that i need to collect. It has a feed and return on it as standard.

Also fitted the oz f1s on there. Gear shifter and coilovers should be here next week. Wishbones with polybushes fitted are in the garage awaiting the coilovers to be fitted all in one hit.

Oh and i jet washed the grime off in the bay. Seems i got something wet as it running like a bag of spanners at idle but shows no fault codes.

I think I have the phase 1 setup too, sender, fuel rail with the FPR. The only thing you can't buy from Renault now is the fuel return hose so swipe the parts from a breaker whenever you can
