abs light comes on after disc change

Today i changed the rear discs on the 19 16V. They came from the factors with abs-rings and bearings.. I briefly wiped the abs sensors when the discs was off.. ABS light turns on as it should when turning on ignition and then goes out.. After driving a short distance, it comes on again.. Is there a way to tell from this if I broke a sensor/wire/triggered a bad connection or if it's the new rings that don't work?

Bosch abs btw..

If the sensor light goes out when the car is started but then comes back on when you move off, then the system itself is fine and the problem is the signal it's getting from the sensors.

How many teeth on the new rings?

42 for Bendix, 36 for Bosch iirc

If you've got the wrong ones on there the ABS computer will think everything is fine when you start the car but as soon as you start moving it will throw up a fault as it will see the back wheels rotating at a different speed to the fronts

What happens when you try braking gently?

nothing...

old rings have 26 teeth, will check tooth count of new ones when this pouring outside stops...

looking at old ones again, I'm almost confident new ones have more teeth than that..

cheers..

edit: apparently the new rings have 44 teeth, so that's wrong.. haven't been able to find separate rings anywhere, so I guess it's off to the local renault dealer..
