Abit of history, and a hibernating 21t ...

I had a few errands I had to get on with today which involved driving a few miles so I thought I would take the 21t out of hiding and use that to carry me around.
One of my jobs was in the same East coast town of a guy who used to own my 21t many moons ago .. (I have owned it 13yrs). The guy owns a car dealership and the story goes from my research that this chap owned several 21t's at the same time as he was a fan of them and also his father before him owned and run a Renault dealership, I pretty much know my cars history but there is a grey area as to when this chap owned it. He seemingly ran my car but kept the other 21t tucked away.
I thought it would be interesting to pop in by and let him see the old girl again and to ask him some questions, anyway he wasn't blinking in but his long time business was there and remembered the car well, he also lead me to a storage part of the car showroom and showed me the "21t" that is still owned by the chap. A lovely tungsten Ph1 ... all original ... F plate ... 73k on the clock. Its not been on the road since 1999, it has one or two minor stone chips at the front but is generally in great condition. It has lovely velour seats which are perfect.
As I was looking over this lovely car one of the other workers popped in and mentioned that he had seen mine parked out front and remembered it well and it was good to see it again, he asked if I wanted to see a photo of mine and took me to another part of the showroom where there was a nice framed picture of mine sitting next to another white 21t ... I'm a sucker for that geeky stuff I'm afraid .. I think every car has a story to tell :)

Some pics I took. ir-IMG_1002.webp ir-IMG_1003.webp ir-IMG_1004.webp ir-IMG_1005.webp ir-IMG_1006.webp ir-IMG_1007.webp ir-IMG_1008.webp ir-IMG_1010.webp ir-IMG_1012.webp ir-IMG_1013.webp ir-IMG_1015.webp

What seats are they? I had velour seats in my phase 2 and the material style was different to that.
They do look 21t seats but as you say the pattern is different.
Maybe its a very early model and this was the initial issue ??? ...

Yes the shape of the seats looks to be correct for the 21 seats. Although an F reg is quite early the under bonnet photos show a few parts that were fitted slightly further into production. The power steering reservoir is usually a different shape on the earliest E-reg phase 1's.
