5 Gordini Turbo for sale

Do you think its the real deal?
Maybe a reshell plastic bits and chrome door mirrors?
At a glance it looks like a base model with alloys and bumpers.
Very very nice though, not sure about only 6 taxed cars left.

I did ask him the question about the plastic trims this is the response:

"hi, and thanks for your interest. the mouldings which i think make the car look much more unique and special were in fact already fitted to the car when i bought it, possibly a factory optional extra. they're on by means of several screws, and rivetted clips to the body to hold them in place. i have placed my hand inside as far as i can, under both rear arches and can feel the edge of the arches, the outside from what i can see looks good (2 pictures sent of nearside and offside rear arches). the trailing arm bushes must be fine or it would not have passed its current mot ( no advisory issued for slack or play). there is no evidence of welding under the front wings from what i can see, and neither have been welded since i have owned the car. the sills are in good condition again if they werent it would not have passed its mot which it did without any advisories issued. i will also point out that most of the underside ofthe car has been protected with underbody sealant, this includes both rear arches and both front wings from what i can remember. i hope this helps. thanks again"

I have seen dini with MOT's that looked like a Jigsaw. :)
Much more unique, ........OK :?

The plastic bits look like those on a GTL. The 6 taxed cars refers to the Gordini Atmo - there are quite a few more turbo's on the road.

Perhaps we could start a trend, i have come gtl /auto plastic side trims, might put them on one of my dinis, come you lot it would be really trendy, then the poor sucker who buys that one wont feel out of place........

the r5 you r all talking about

just to say a few words. the car is the real deal. its exactly as i bought it. says GD on V5. I dont take to kindly to you calling my prospective buyers.... SUCKERS.... who do you think you are!!! make a comment thats fine. dont get personal

Fair dos, its right you have your say.

So, why havn't you removed the non-standard side bumpers, if you want to make the car sell for top money as a standard car?

I think Brenton's point is that you cant claim your car is the Real Deal whilst it still has granny-parking-bumpers down each side.

Anyway, good luck with your sale.

I hear where you are coming from. However we are always a little bit suspicious of mint Dinis.A lot of one granny owner TLs and Autos are being picked up for 100 to 200 quid and becoming Dini re-shells.This can be further compounded by chrome mirrors and plastic side pannels.

Also every single Dini that has appeared on ebay over the last 18 months seems to sell and then get re-listed within a month. Some up to 3or4 times by the same seller.

Hannu has a point. With respect if you want to get top dollar,a weekends work removing the plastic and fitting either a pair of Californian mirrors or original tinted Dini ones will really pay off.

the car is exactly as i bought it. i've had 13 years to remove the trim and i havent. not going to do it now. a weekend? if only i had that time free i'd use it. top money? space is more important than money thats why up until now i've kept it. now need the space so its gotta go. reselling? i've only advertised it once before last week when ebay decided to remove it because of a breach of ebay rules regarding paypal... they erased the whole add. so 3 days later its back on and for that reason only. i'm enjoying this !!!!!

In which case I apologise,I did notice the 3% faux pas.We are quit a crowd here.Every morning we link up via webcam and sing Jerusalem, then we swap knitting patterns and recipes

Mr Cliche you crack me up! :D

"granny-parking-bumpers" hilarious.
Good points though, would sell for alot more if it was Re-Gordin'd.
Mirrors, accurate "Turbo" graphics, correctly coloured wheel inserts, correct Gordini badge on rear hatch, and "Turbo" badge in right place.
would only take a couple of hours but would be well worth the effort.

Hi renaultboy who do you think you are who do you think you areing me?Mate ,there have been so many people selling so much rubbish on ebay purporting to be the genuine article that I feel I have the right to diss your car.
If I had had any sort of Dini for13 years I would have removed the GTL plastic.
Nice to know that a genuine 5 owner joins the site when its time to sell.
Love your car hope you get loads

REALLY CEEBDUB, YOU ARE SUCH A CHARACTER. I DEAL WITH PEOPLE LIKE YOU EVERY DAY. THINK THEY KNOW EVERYTHING UNTIL ITS TO LATE. BUT I'LL TELL SOMETHING. YOU SAY NICE TO KNOW GINUINE RENAULT 5 OWNERS ONLY JOIN THE SITE WHEN THEY WANT TO SELL. MAYBE, BUT NOT ME. I'VE BEEN A MEMBER FOR A WHILE. I JOINED A WEEK AFTER YOU CEEBDUB. HAVE A LOOK AT THE MEMBERS LIST NUMBER 161 REGGY 5 GORDINI, THATS ME. AND OH LOOK, YOU'RE NUMBER 159. YOU DO MAKE ME CHUCKLE. I LIKE YOU

Finally a tiff that doesn't involve me :D
And FYI they are not "Granny-Parking Bumpers"
Due to the ammount of body roll on the base models they are there to protect the lower parts of the car that scrape the ground when hard cornering

you deal with people like me every day, are you a psychiatrist ?
Chill man, just having some fun, which as everbody knows wont be of detriment to your sale. I genuinely hope you get loads of money for your car.

i'm as chilled as an ice cube in a freezer. like i've said you make me chuckle mate. it will be sad to see it go. looking back now i probably could of done those things you have suggested. if only i had some time. i'm not selling for the money. new family commitments mean i need the garage space. if it wasnt for that, i'd keep it. thanks
