At the moment this 2016 anniversary seems to be passing under radar or is forgotten about, but it is 30 years since the (Country staggered) launch of the Renault 21 with in Europe.
I certainly remember doing the PDI on the then "Derek Sales Renault" demonstrator which was a metallic blue 1.7 TS with beige interior in July 1986 and immediately after that a PDI on an R18 Estate.
Us R21 turbo owners know that the turbo version was released in late 1987 Europe & May 88 for us brits which may be celebrated by Renault in due course, but the celebration of the R21 as a whole seems to be very quiet.
