Hi all.

the 21toc.com is now a shadow of its former self. We have a low post count due to us being for the sole purpose of a 21 turbo. This in itself is its greatest drawback as well as its greatest asset.

Our website hosting renewal is upon us again. We dont have any funds coming in since we abolished any fees and so can only fund this venture for a finite period of time. I want to future proof and make sure that all and any posts here are kept alive in some way shape or form hence the following :

I have a proposal which has been verbally agreed on by Chairman Craig to put the next bit to the vote.

1) migrate this site into the site known as turboRenault.co.uk where there are 530 members ( and growing daily ) where ALL turboRenaults owners are , both modern and classic. There will be more chat , more interest in YOUR car
2) keep your usernames / password / messages
3) migrate the knowledgebase into a new forum which will be going for many years. Primarily as my company funds it (!)
4) retain 21toc.com identity by creating a subsection for the 21toc , whilst retaining freedom to read the other parts of the board
5 ) retain the free access
6) utilise modern forum software that is simply freaking awesome. Easy to use on phones - you can even upload direct from your phone
7) utilise all the discounts available to turboRenault.co.uk members
8) Chairman Craig will retain any funds and operate financially autonomously from TurboRenault unless you ( exclusive vote to 21toc.com members ) vote otherwise to operate as one at a later date.
9) the ability to buy items for your 21t ( as we get them ! ) in the club shop
10) You will still be able to visit 21toc.com and it will automagically redirect to the "new" site.

Its your club folks , its this clubs future. Please vote.

Get it done.

You might all remember I advocated a merge to RTOC before we had a big fall out with the committee over there over things such as this and that clubs dwindling future. TurboRenault.co.uk is the future the RTOC could have had but chose not to. Its the future for all us classic enthusiasts because it integrates the newer performance kit and we have dropped the "niche" feel these clubs always have had where the five is the bulk of content and chat. Granted its still a fair percentage but we are seeing an influx now of newer stuff that is really promising.
Its time for the classic owners to realise there is no future in separate clubs, aside from tumbleweed blowing across forums with ever dwindling numbers. Will you come back here when you get an R26 or cliosport? No. On TR you can. Anything is welcome.
The eBay plugin alone is so immensely cool its worth a yes vote and the shop is pimp. The events forum with integrated location map is also pretty sweet. Come over and have a look.

I vote yes :-)

I've been here since 2001 and if I'm honest I feel sorry for the old girl, its a bit like HMV, it gets the odd save and a bit of a rebrand but its lack of footfall will be its demise. 33 taxed 21's left on the road means less and less folk on here.

Save what's left, turboRenault is a testament to the people investing time and effort into it.

We can all still chat etc

My old local is now a Tesco, I didn't give up beer, I found a new pub with the same pals.

I say yes.....you'd be crazy to try and remain out there on your own with so few cars, who knows the added members may spark some new interest in the model.

I think that this is a good way of keeping our 21s active whilst getting the benefits of becoming part of a bigger forum. I have been very inactive since my Quadra has been SORN'd (awaiting funds to do a proper restoration) but I do keep an eye on things over on the TR forum and think that this merger, as proposed, will be a good thing.

I agree with Dave about it being a bit sad but I think it needs to happen in order for this to survive.

guys , I was going to leave this open for a week , but it seems a bit of a whitewash. Shall we say its a done deal ?

While I am sad that this club can't carry on on its own, I think it is the best thing we can do to carry the 21 turbos into the future as more and more owners sell up and move on for me the best thing about this club was not its cars but the people that were involved in it i've made a lot of good friends that I wish to keep and if that means moving this club into the Turbo Renault all well and good, let's do it
As Dave says the cars will get more exposure in this club and more people will be interactive

Fifteen to none. Wow. Pretty much a done deal.... thanks to everyone that voted!

Hope you all enjoy the awesomeness of TurboRenault. Bond has outdone himself over there, and though there is five of us that run it he's built the technical aspect of it all and it's really, really good.

I didn't vote to move over,
In fact looking at the poll result on the top of THIS page it looks like no one voted at all !!

I guess the votes themselves didn't carry over, but the fact it was a landslide 15-0 in favour prompted the action while the time and resource was available.

I don't think it matters anyway cos ether way no one seems to wanna give out any secrets ive mainly had negative feed back
on the questions ive asked in stead of trying to help I get...... DONT DO IT !!!! LOL

whats up buddy? people are generally trying to help you and point you in the direction of tried and tested methods rather than have youblow it up, remember they are old cars with plenty of miles on and most that tune them know what they are on about and have tried it all before

well im trying to fit a filter and up the boost to 18psi max its been done loads of times on a stock setup as ive seen and read before
ive setup my 5 in the same way and running 16psi on that with the help off other people and she runs like a dream and goes like hell
im not asking for blowing up power not until ive sorted some injectors out fuel pump and bigger turbo ive got my front mount ready to go on and iam sorcing the other parts as well but for the time being wanna take her to 18 psi without flying through the window screen....
