I'm planning on renewing the timing belt and tensioner shortly, just wondered where you 21t lads are buying yours from ? ...

Its a Gates belt http://www.gatesautocat.com/drive/RENAULT/21/L485/J7R752/06-87_10-93/42607, make sure you get the right one. The belt for the 21 2.0 is very similar (it has 116 teeth) but the 2.0 turbo belt is 115 x 19.
Available from the link below for £25.42 + postage. I think Craig, DaveL485 used to be able to supply these and I'd expect most local motor factors should be able to order this.

I can't remember the deatils for the tensioner, however Craig or Dave used to be able to source these.
Found a source for the tensioner but I'm certain it can be obtained cheaper.

Have you tried Renault? Occasionally their prices can be quite reasonable. However I did once enquire about a genuine cambelt and it was £62 and that was 3 or so years ago.

I've used Gates belts for years without issue. I can hook you up if you're struggling to find one, I have one in stock I think.
