New Member
Hey I was left my brothers 21 turbo it's needing quite a bit of repair and could do with a donor car to get it fixed up, preferably in Scotland if anyone can help ?

Hi Christine ...
Welcome to the club.
Where abouts in Scotland are you, its not Ayr by any chance ? ..

Possibly some of the other members may be able to help regarding a donar car. Do you know what all the car is requiring ? ... does it run and drive ? .. any photos ? ...
Im just outside Glasgow.

Yes he was I'm closer to girvan, no been on the road for a while now due to other commitments engine should be fine needs new hoses and a lot of body work and a respray

Have you got somebody to carry out the bodywork repairs and what's your budget ? ..
Do you know what all on the body needs done ?

I understand this car will most likely have a strong emotional attachment so is it something that I'd definitely getting fixed ? ... Within reason of course.

I will definitely get it back on the road I haven't set a price or time line just gonna work away at it, it definitely needs rear arches and doors and a corner of the roof repaired I'm sure it will have a few surprises along the way needing done

If you can list specific parts you need we can tell you whether a lower spec model would suffice or if parts are turbo specific. Be easier to source if you can get it from an NA model.

What colour is the car ? .. Also i can't remember what Phase it was, 1, 2 or 3 ?

A good panel beater should be able to fabricate you a set of arches, that's how i got one of mine done a few years back.
The doors shouldn't be an issue, Haz is selling some on the sales section and a chap called Ollie is a good source for parts aswell. I may be buying a door or possibly 2 from Haz and would be driving down to collect them so if you buy the others i could pick them up for you, its up to you ....
There's not much of us 21t owners up in Scotland but will be glad to help when i can.

Thanks for the mention. I've got a few bits and a tungy shell to cut up but if it's repair sections you are after most are in the same condition tbh, and non turbos are just as rare so. Most problem areas aren't too bad to make up but I'd certainly have a good poke about to see what's involved before you start

Hey just got round 2 getting it pulled out now and a good wash, needs drivers door, passenger front door, 2 front wings and and ideas on replacement panels for back arches

Have you had a chance to check the front top strut mounts as they are known to go and crack there ? ... have a look from inside the engine bay area. I would also try and see what if anything is lurking behind them side sills, hope you will find nothing but its best to know so you know what your dealing with.
I would certainly ask Renault how much wings are from them, you may be surprised.
The plastic trim piece that covers the rear arches is no longer available so you either remove the old ones carefully or just do away with them, but if you do bin them then you will also have to bin the door ones as it will look odd, and if you remove the door ones there are locating holes which require welding up then sprayed. This is what i'm doing with mine just now, i'm having them all removed.

Are the front door really that bad ? .... could a good fabricator or body shop not do something with them ? .... the passenger one looks ok in the photo.
I would leave the windscreen at the moment and worry about that later, get the bodywork seen to 1st.
