Oh wow, even the cage has gone!
How does this differ from a road car shell without the cage or running gear?
New thread please!
I have a 2 wheel dolly if you wanna use it instead of renting a trailer.
All I've done is measure up the chamber volume in the 200 head.Looks well. Hows the new engine build coming along?
Do I need to run the solenoid. Not planning on using it. Was going to make a blank for it. Have the dephaser pulley. Just got to get an exhaust pulley.I believe Stage x have programmed a 197 throttle to the megane sagem s3000, so should be do able. They offered to program 250 throttle onto s3000, i may take that route in the future if its do able/stable.
197 head should go straight on the block, and 172 cams straight in just fit the dephaser and solenoid to suit, if you plan to use it or not. My mate has ran a 197 head on r26 block, i believe he used custom j.e pistons to get the comp where he wanted it.
You could also use 197 ecu and have vvt working, but wont have boost control, so will need a boost controller to suit.
I think you would need to modify the head oil galleries if blanking off the vvt solenoid. Ive simply got mine in place with the dephaser fitted to save any hassle with oiling the cams, vvt solenoid causes no harm sitting in the head disconnected, and no worries about any oiling issues. Also the bonus of having the option to use vvt in the future, i may look at using thr 250 ecu and throttle on mine eventually.
Cosmetics wise, you could machine a cap to go over the solenoid top.
Im going to be using the 250 3 bar map sensors, as stock 2.5bar are maxed out around 18/19psi.
Chris can map them in no bother, Its the better option for when the boost is getting up there with a hybrid turbo - compensation tables properly mapped in, incase of overboost etc. I believe stock map sensors are maxed out around 18/19 psi so your in dodgy ground if over that.
Good to know.Meg exhaust pulley will work fine with 172 cams, Thats all i run on mine with 250 head. Im even running a 172 dephaser as i dont plan on using the vvt any time soon, and it was new/free.
