Yep R12 water pump. Frans in NZ did a piece on Aussiefrogs forum about converting the 12 pump to work on Rear Engine. He appears on here with his 21 turbo, cant remember his handle on here sorry. Why the 4x4 look, has someone put the wrong springs in it. I originally thought the car was all stripped out, but it isn't.
You will need a unf stud to fit that block for a spin on filter, positive it's 3/4 unf. Some of the speed shop catalogues will have them. You may even get a conversation stud from unf- metric and use later GTT filter.

Interesting early gtt block was unf oil filter adaptor from memory. I had to get a custom adaptor bolt made for my old one.

In for updates. Had no doubt about it firing up, these old lumps always go if spark and fuel.

The wheels look a bit big for my liking not sure if its due to the small tyres. Nice set of gottis or similar needed mate ;)

I think the tyres and ride height are makingbthem looked odd, 15s same as I had on the dope.

Some pimp gottis would look awesome on there I agree.

Needs some sidewall height, 65 or 70 profile, get some gearing back too, wheels would look spot on lacquered silver, instead of Nissan Figaro cream.
Ditch those R5/6 hubcaps, run it without , very Monte Carlo.
I've probably got some late R8/10 pan lids if you go that way. Early 8 caps are a bit rarer

Cheers for the offer, I think ill worry more about the aesthetics once its closer to useable but defo going for chunkier tyres (y)

Jacked up the one side today and whipped the wheels off (haven't got any pics) brake callipers are there and look good, lines look like they may have been replaced in the last decade too, nothing looks like I need to worry too much, got the front up to check some lines there and see why there was no fluid in the brake reservoir to find............ no master cylinder. I think I have it in a box somewhere, so maybe its knackered and can be rebuilt or it just needs replacing completely. More investigation needed it think.

EDIT
So I couldn't help myself and went and had a look at the MC. Didn't look too bad, pulled it to bits as you do and it looks like its either had a rebuild or is a NOS item.

Can anyone confirm its the correct item for the car?

Not sure, think there's multiple versions, diameter wise, valve on end should have holes in for disc brakes cars, long time since I played with 8/10, been all Dauphine and 4cv for last 15 or so, @Steve Swan is the man to know

even the haynes say there are a few so check with renault lol. it does state it should be 22mm though so i can check that, and the block on the end looks to match the pictures. Ill await Steves input (y)

You have a seconder here.

Should read to the end first. Didn't see the questions.
M/C could be 19,20.6 or 22mm
Early supposed to be 22, later supposed to be 19, but I have always found 20.6 in situ
Adey it looks like an original type, but not the paint, oe. is rust colour.
22mm gives hard pedal. 20.6 will be much better and still allow big front calipers to be fitted (to stop all the turbo acceleration) 19mm is marginal for pedal travel and will be on the floor with big calipers.
I ended up with 25mm on my G with 4 big calipers to get a nice firm pedal (my personal preference)
8's are copper as standard, just the nuts that rot. good to see some real progress though. Getting it mobile under it's own steam is no bad thing.
In other news I have just shook hands on a new toy/Raft/Project which I need to collect this week
Doomsday bus inbound...........................

Cheers for that Steve, stripped it again to measure up and its a 22mm. It'll do for now to get it up and running hopefully. Next question.... dont suppose you know the brake pipe thread size and tube size do you? no biggy if not.

Interested to see what this new project you have is.....

Insurance sorted through Lancaster as I always do. My NCB had lapsed off the dope but managed to still get a cracking deal I think.

Also, alternator conversion doing its thing. Starts strong too 💪🏻 just need to get a battery that fits the box 👍🏼 no leaks to be seen on the cooling system either.

Moving to the brakes this weekend hopefully, need to borrow some kit to make some new lines up. Will be replacing both from the MC to the front brakes and the front section to the rear. Just to get rid of some crusty fittings that are there. Once done i should be able to slip the MC into place then bleed it all.

Am I right in thinking it doesn't need an MOT? So just get it running and stopping, and you're off??
