172 onto valver brake conversion..

has anyone done te whole hub swap yet? also has it been beneficial to the braking performance? or shall i just stick with the valver set up?

yes ...but its a pain in the arse..for a small improvement..

there's a better way..172 discs and peugot 406 v6 calipers

172 setup is not that much work... Hubs need a bit of machining, and you need wide track from williams or R19 16v... and calipers from a 172 offcourse...

Other than that... what do you have to do, to take the 406 v6 calipers? Different hubs? or 16v hubs? anything else to adjust?

with a whole hub swap you need modified drive shaft as well iirc..

the brembo four pots of the 406 bolt up to standard hubs with 172 discs without mods just a few washers to centralise the calipers and renault 21 tx caliper bolts...

saw a set on e bay...about 112 quid iirc.. :D

this loony is selling a set, currently on £255 quid with a day left (ebay item no: 320313729307).. also look what he thinks they will fit.. fraudulent bellend! they would look phat on a valver but fucked if i'm spending close to £300 lol

The inner hub assembly needs changing to valver items i.e. 172 outer hub assy, and valver bearing, valver inner hubs, was thinking about this myself,

Whats the deal with 406 brakes maxi?? much modification? i belive they almost go straight on 205 gti's and the standard front brakes are similar to valver items...

none...172 discs 406 v6 brembo four pots renault 21 tx bolts and a few washers..

Should have read all the posts, thanks maxi will keep an eye out for people breaking 406's. this might mean that gti-6 calipers fit then....

not sure as its to do with disc thinkness bolt spacing and offset..

Yeh for gti-6 brakes id have to look into what discs were suitable, diameter and disc offset may be a problem

Hmm id rather buy second hand 406 brembo calipers for a third of the price than new ones, brake calipers hardly wear out and there easy enough to service/overhaul

Surely those brembos wont fit behind 15's?
I would get some from that site now if i could guarantee that they would fit!

on the car in question he running 10mm spacers iirc...

but hold on as this is being done as we speak and a guide to follow..

the place hasn't any in stock trying another source tomoorrow will let you know..

pug breakers online can get them for upwards of £250 when i inquired. they must know their value. ebay will be the cheapest place to get them unless you know someone..

in a week or 2 i'll need a 15'' alloy to test fit :D
