I'm not going into too much detail here but if people need any more info just ask and i'll add it in.
The renault diagnostic port is an open collector output and we need a simple adapter board to connect this to a USB serial cable and the XR25PC software (or alternatives)
The components needed are:
Substitutions for alternative similar components are fine.
Schematic:
Here are the PCB's that we had made
But its just as easy to make one up on stripboard

- 2 x 390 Ohm Resistor
- 1.8k Ohm Resistor
- 557B PNP Transistor
- 1N4148 Diode
- LED
