July 4th/5th is the provisonal date for the event in 2009. Venue to be confirmed.
A date for your diaries.

Now confirmed for Silverstone which means a decent hard standing display area right in the centre of the circuit, dusty Donington is a thing of the past.

We now have confirmation of this event with colectors area, concours competition and a gala evening (of some sort details TBA).
The bad news is there wil be NO collectors parade laps at all at any of the WSR events including Silverstone.
Will bring you more details asap.

Please do not post any questions in this thread, use the WSR chat thread instead.

Bit of an update recvieved today from Renault:

"With regard to your experience, 2009 marks a new direction that is based on the following principles:

- More flexibility in the selection criteria with a registration system based essentially on the order in which requests are received

- Increase in the number of participants per WSR (compared to 2008) with the continuation of a limited number of rules to ensure the event is well organized

- Waived registration fees for pre-1945 vehicles

- Organization with a local club that will be your primary point of contact

- A "Collectors' Contest" held at each meet to replace the Histoire & Collection Trophies

- For reasons related to security and timing, we can no longer organize collectors' parades at the meets.

I can confim that there will be 400 infield parking spaces available at WSR Silverstone available on a first come first served basis. I have been sent a pre-registration form that I'll post up shortly.

The official entry registration form can be found from the link at this page:
http://www.renaultalpineownersclub.com/ ... 202009.pdf

Simply print out the form, fill it in and send it with your cheque made out to the Renault Alpine Owners Club, to the address on the second page of the form.
Further details regarding the gala evening to follow.

If you only require the free entrance tickets then use this link: WSR free tickets

This will give you access to the track, grandstands paddock and all other atractions for free. you will however be in the public car parks where there are no set aside Renault areas and you will not be able to drive you car into the centre and park with the collectors cars.

Use this link collectors area application to book your place in the collectors area and you will also be given the free entry tickets along with the vehicle pass. This will cost you £10 for the car and all passengers (only 1 in our case!). You will need to print this form out and send it, along with your cheque to the RAOC at the address stated.
No tickets are available on the days so make sure you take one of the options above.

I have been asked by those who can only attend one day, and cannot decide which, to point out the different events on each day, Basicly, the collectors area is there both days as will all the attractions and each of the International Renault race series (ie, wsr3.5, f renault 2.0 and Megane eurocup) will have qualifying and races each day while the UK Formaula Renault and Clio cup will have 2 races but only on Sunday. So if you want to see Clio cup races go for the Sunday. All the other atractions ie fun fair, F1 displays and the Ragnotti show will be on both days.
The only other difference is the concours competition for the collectors cars will be judged on Saturday only, so if you wanted a shot at that then come on the Saturday. The gala evening is of course on Saturday evening only where the prizes will be awarded.
the easiest way is to come to both!

Camping is available at Wittlebury at a cost of £30 Car+tent from sat till mon.Need to book a week in advance.
Information via WRS website under camping then follow the links.

You should have by now or Thursday, received your tickets and window sticker if your name is on the attendees list and you have not received them by Thursday then please let us know. call either me 07941355586 or Stephen Dell 07956495773 but dont panic, if your name is on the list then there is no problem on the day.

please ignore the big green arrow at the top! Enter from the Main entrance in Dadford Road, head for the paddock/ competitors entrance do not go to the public car parks and make sure your label is displayed.
Gala tickets still avaialble, ask when you check in at the welcome tent. Possible deal on 2 or more tickets- ask me! ALL food, drink and chocolate fountain is included in the gala ticket price.
I will be at Silverstone from Friday AM so don't pm or ask any questions on here as I may not get a chance to log on, call me if anything urgent!

I've been asked to pass on a message from 'eastlmark' who's already at Silverstone helping to set up..

" Would all those that have paid to show their cars 'infield', please stick the self adhesive pass provided, clearly on display in their windscreen PRIOR to entry! Once you have entered the circuit through the main gate, please follow the Lilac coloured signs marked 'CLASSIC & R.S. CARS', not collectors cars as previous years. Thank you"

Please park with all other Clio V6's as directed, regardless of club, as there are no 'club' stands. Parking this year is on grass, It appears to be well drained and flat, so no problems expected should is hammer down with rain.

Look forward to seeing you at over the weekend!!
