Won't start any advise appreciated

Iv had a auto electrician out to look at the car today. He's diagnosed the problem as a broken/damaged wire somewhere between the fuel pump relay at the front and another relay at the back. This is the reason the cars not starting and the diagnostic socket isn't working.
He's had a few hours looking for it today and not managed to really trace where the wires go and has said the lack of information doesn't help. Iv got had all the information from diagrams on here but what he'd like to know is from the back relay box to the one under the bonnet is there any connector boxes between the 2 (sorry if this is hard to follow I'm just trying to remember what he's said to me!) I'm just trying to help point him in the right direction! Thanks a lot for everyone's help hopefully getting closer to having her fixed!!

From what I know the main loom from rear relay/ box in boot runs through engine bay on LHS looking from back of car, there is a sizeable connector there , you'll need to remove outer and inner covers to get to it , not a difficult job.
Would assume the loom then runs through rear bulkhead and runs to front of car.. Some others on here may have better info..

I agree with the above, its about a 50 pin connector and the pins do go green with damp, split this plug and give it a spray with contact cleaner, this may help.

Cheers guys. I'm pretty sure he's looked at this without taking the covers off. Will mention it to him on Wednesday again when I see him tho. I can honestly say I'm glad I'm not an auto electrician tho!! All looks very complicated to me!

Car is now fixed and back home. The problem was a dodgy uch which has been replaced. Also had the car serviced whilst at sg's glad to have it back.

Pleased you got it sorted but what's a "dodgy uch" ?

I couldn't tell you exactly what was up with it but when it was replaced the car started!
Sorry I'm not a mechanic or that technical. Scot did explain but if I tried to remember what he told me I doubt I'd get it correct!

It's a relay unit behind the dash passenger side.

UCH.

IMMOBILISER Coded key immobiliser system OPENING A KEY HEAD For the engine immobiliser function, the UCH carries out the following functions:–decodes the key signal,–communicates with the injection computer,–controls the red warning light on the instrument panel,–communicates with the diagnostic tool

Great news mate, such a shame your start to ownership hasn't been brilliant.

Look forward to seeing pics of the car on here every now and then :)

Perhaps I need to ask for a camera for Christmas!
