Wiper stalks

just a general musing

I know that the later (all ph2s?) clio's came with a button on the end of the wiper stalk... without getting into details of what exactly the button does, do they all look like this:

or are there some that are in the ph1 style but the end is actually a button?

From what i have seen

Button stalks have buttons.. look like picture one

Button less stalks have no button... look like picture two

The only difference ive seen is some buttons are grey others are black

isn't it something to do with the immobiliser. for inputting the code. i might be wrong or thinking of another button
