White Chammy 2k9

This one has the oil cooler then?

I have the cooler bits necessary to fit it to my new engine, is it worth it?

Nope no oil cooler on this one. It uses the loop with the restrictor. Yeah the pipe that bursts!

The single pipe one is uber rare, I have seen maybe 2 or 3 with it at most. Normally they either have the cooler or more commonly the loop. The single pipe version is the neatest but you could argue it reduces system capacity therefore reducing cooling effect - slightly.

Theres 2 cooler sizes, the 16V slim one, the megane (and for some reason some rsi's got it as well) fat one.

More often than not they are blocked anyway, not tot he extent of the grey cars old lump I have out the back with totally clogged hoses but normally they are pretty poor and often leak oil into the cooling system due to corrosion.

The problem is its not really a cooler its at best a heat exchanger, a cooler dumps the heat through a radiator to atmospheric temp therefore actively cooling. In this case assuming it has 100% efficiency it can only dump heat to whichever is cooler so it doesn't do MUCH cooling.

Its main benefit is warming cold oil a bit quicker and keeping it warm to help keep the oil cleaner for longer. It will help cool the oil a bit by dumping some heat into the cooling system, if running one I would consider a cooler stat just to keep everything in a happy place.
