What power & torque would I be looking at?

BMC CDA (already fitted)
Superchip or Dastek ECU
Janspeed full system with sports manifolds and cats

What power & torque would I be looking at?

And what else would need to be upgraded? Clutch? Brakes?

Since you asked [in the exhausts thread] what it took to achieve 272 bhp @ 6900rpm:
Base engine is Phase 1 / V6 230.
Gas flowed and ports sleeved TWR cylinder heads.
Dave Newman cams.
Grey Injectors.
Trophy Coil Packs.
Gas Flowed and enlarged plenum chamber with larger Bosch ETB.
Motec M800 ECU.
Janspeed exhaust manifolds, cats & silencer,[which fits into car without any other mods.]
Omex full race pistons.
Engine Balanced.

We know that a lot more power is available as the plonker who made me the first engine loom for the dyno put in no wiring for the cam sensors and the coils & injectors were wired in 3 pairs and fired together!
Steve Hurst is making a proper Motec dyno loom for us and Scotty is working on some ideas for better water circulation and air intake.
Then we shall go back onto the dyno before fitting it in the car.

All of these performance parts can be readily sourced from Scott at renaultclioV6.com

the engine was 278bhp before detuning for reliability - I guess you'd be heading back that way ie a 8-10% hike (on optimax with the chip)- clutch will still be fine as will the brakes unless you track it a lot

That little lot will be out of my price range! Be interested to see what it gets properly set-up tho.

Cheers for the info! :D

Cheers to the info Mike. :D

Hoping for around 275BHP (250+10%). And a better exhaust note to match the induction noise I now get! 8)

My concern is the expenditure will only get me to approx 255BHP! If i'm now at 240BHP and only get +7% = 257BHP Then it seems rather pricey!

I'd be interested to hear how you get on Peter255 - I'm considering the same mods myself (got the BMC already).

Just spoke to Scott (http://www.renaultcliov6.com). He's dynoing Hogs otherwise standard 255 with the full Janspeed system (b/box manifolds and cats). Will wait to see what that gets. If that gains a fair bit (maybe 10BHP) then it'll get fitted sharpish! Then will wait and see on dastek or maybe superchips....

I want to get some hard figures before parting with my money!

Also getting a Samco hose to properly sort the inlet to my BMC.

Peter :D

Snap! Some real-world figures would be good. I'd like to hear what the Janspeed sounds like too.

I'd also be very interested to hear how you get on with Samco - the solution I've got right now with the BMC is very basic, with the metal hose slotting inside the Renault inlet hose from the air vent!

I have spoken to Scott (SGMotorsport) and he has Hogs old V6 (standard except the zorst) on the WRC dyno on friday. Fingers corssed for some good gains. Apparently it does sound sweet tho either way.

Peter. :D

well chaps went to the rolling road and the results are!5bhp more than last time.tourqe is up 15ftlb at 2500rpm which you notice straght away on the road.engine is free reving right to the red line.would get more top end power with a filter as i was useing the standard box and filter.

Question is, how much fitted?

Peter :D

Renault claim 255bhp at 7150rpm my car made 254.4 at 6500rpm.and for tourqe they claim 300nm at 4650rpm mine runs a tiny bit more tourqe at the same limit.last time i ran the car it had a light weight free flow back box so a std car may only be makeing 245bhp!will try and get the power sheet up!

That would be in keeping with Renault to be claiming a little more than they actually give you. Good to see some figures though and to know you've gained with the new exhaust.

Nice to see the power came in a little earlier at 6500rpm.

Peak power at the limiter is no real use to anyone!

Others have seen 240(ish)BHP standard. Looks like worth while gains to be had (10-15BHP).

Shame is I need to get my clutch done so the zorst is on hold for the mo!

Peter

Then again I heard Scotts "development" V6 last night with the full Janspeed system. Hmmmm fruity!

I wonder how much?

Peter :D

Here is the full dyno plot referred to above (from Scott). Comparing standard Mk2 V6 with sports back box, to same car with full Janspeed system (Manifolds, Cats, and Silencer Box) Upper blue line is Janspeed system.

Gains would likely be even greater from fully standard car to full new zorst! 8)

Apologies for size! :(
