What have you done to your Retro Renault today?

finished painting for now, boot and stop light looking good, also front, looks good after buffing the clear coat. even better with all the lights etc back on.

put half a litre of oil in. It's now using that much every 2 weeks plus the coolant goes from max to min in the same time. Not got any mayo under the cap though, looks like a leak on a clip near the icsv. There's a slow PS fluid leak too...MOT coming up in a month...

stick with it jr, you surely have the best original spec ph1 cabby,

i have got mine all sorted then 2 splits appear in the roof, typical feckin 19

Stripped both doors on the cabby, a little rust behind side mirrors and underneath doors to sort out. and repaint.also fix the lazy locking.

Repainted drivers door today, 2 base 4 clear. getting better, no runs.......
swapped side mirror glasses over from my old PH1 mirrors. looking better.
I had better stop working on the old girl and start thinking about packing my suitcase soon.
Bloody hard to do but, misses has been in UK for five weeks, so what do you do every day when you are alone? spend ever minute you can on the project of course.

Lowered the torsion bar today..... What a job !, it was Seized solid
I ended up taking the torsion off the car and beating it to death on the driveway,
Sorted now tho and looking sweet .
Also had the tank off why i was there because the pump died last time i drove it , ive made a walbro fit

did you remove the rear beam, can you give a more detailed account of bashing fuck out of it, i have a spare beam that is siezed aswell as the 1 on the car that is siezed, cant get either to free using the thread/nut way, keep stripping threads on the nuts and bolts

Major surgery this weekend. Some dick had made a botched job, an its jus continued to rot. So ive had to cut out ome of the inner arch and the front half of the inner wing.......off to order the inner wing tomoz and carry on makin up repair sections!

Ive then gotta take the other wing off, an see what that sides like.....i know the lower lip.of the inner arch is rotten beneath the fuse box! Wish me luck!

Benzo...any tips for inner arch replacing?

Anyone know any history of M150 ABP?

sorry for delay didnt see the post,, well i got a welder to do mine,, but very simple as all he did was remove the spot welds, but get a good welder,,

Yeah your phase 1 is looking well clean (y)

I Fitted a whole new engine loom 2 days ago and it's running good, car is going off the road after trax and my R5GTT will become the new project. The 19 will be off the road untill the megane 225 lump is fitted ;)

started cleaning the valves on the blue chammy cylinder head. All but 2 of the exhaust valves are bent to varying degrees. The seats are crappy as well obviously.

Inlets are all perfect with excellent valve seat contact patches.

The carbon build up was all that was sealing the cylinders. Funny how the compression readings were ok.

Oh well when its back together it will be smoother, have more power and better fuel economy. Win all round.

I still need to clean the dings on the pistons. I hate it when people do a half ass job.A few seconds to clean up the pistons and the effort they put into straightening the valves your as well fitting new ones.

Still I have to say for a car I got in 2005 and knew it had a headgasket issues it kept on going and going for 30k roughly.
