What brought us to Vee ownership

Ok heres my history, as some of you other guys have listed theirs
Mini 850
Mini Cooper S mk3 (1971)
BMW 323i
BMW 325i
Honda CRX 16i 16v
Honda Civic VTI 3dr
Honda Accord Type R (3 of these)
Honda integra Type R
Clio 172
Clio V6 (now the second car)
BMW330d touring (on my 6th one of these, disability means zero VAT on new ones!)

I'm lucky to say all but one of the Hondas were all company cars and always brought clever so never lost much money on any of the above.

I was (sort of still am) mainly a Lotus / Caterham man and have owned various versions of them both ( But not the Caterham 21 which I still want- but cannot import here)

My current collection is as follows
A Renault Clio V6 (UK #131)
A HSV VXR, which is a Vauxhall Astra VXR, but here in Australia it was sold under the HSV name ....
1998 Lotus Elise S1 .... White with red roof and interior ...

Still Looking to buy ....
Rover Mini Cooper Sport ...or .... AC3000me ...or...?? what have you got ? ....

(interesting the cars from Scott ... I love the Dino, and one is for sale in Sydney .. need to talk to Scott about Dino ownership .... I looked at a Uracco once ... but the engine rebuild invoices the guy had on file scared me away ... and I went to Perth to drive a Tuscan ... can came away really sad my other dream car was an under developed brute ...)

The Vee was always a "must have" from the time I read about the launch of the Ph1 ...
My Lotus dealer at the time, Pascoe's in Melbourne also had Renault as a brand .. and they promised me first gig at the Vee when it was introduced to Australia ..
Over time the communication dropped off ... and finally they just said it was not happening ..

I then obviously ( see list of cars below) went through a few cars while this was happening ...

Elise Type 25 and Esprit .... very in your face, with not many good comments from passers by ... generally .."how much did that cost" ...
My wife was chased by some boy racers one night in the Elise ... she arrived home, tore her top getting out of the car, hit her head on the roof getting out as well, and to top it off it was raining so the floor was wet so it took 3 or four attempts to get out anyway ...
Keys were thrown at me ... and a comment of ..."I am never going anywhere in that car again" ... note the S1 elise is tolerated .. and will travel in ... buts its really my Motor bike substitute ..

The Esprit ... well that was just call the "door stop" by my other half ... and never ventured into that car at all ... ( she never saw the money spent on that .. thank god)

The Lotus 7, and Caterham ... I have an addiction for them ... and love them heaps ... but once again .. my lovely other half has burnt her leg / arm / hand on the exhaust ... has been in the Cat while on a highway with an 18 wheeler truck beside us .. ( that was an interesting moment ...) ...
So the Caterham has become what I want ... but I will have to wait ... besides the one I want here is way to expensive ... and I cannot import one here ..

So, the want for a vee become massive ... I saw it as filling my needs for an interesting steer ... unique with its own personality .... and it was based on a standard hatch .. so getting in and out would be easy for you know who ...

My Vee was the first into Australia ... and at the time I had a friend in the UK who was also looking for me ... I was on the verge of buying the Lunar Grey from Scotland when I met the owner of the Vee here in Australia, and test drove the car .... my first drive was a bit disappointing as it was in a busy city area .... so the next day I went to visit him in the hills behind Adelaide ...
That 2nd drive .... That was the seller for me ... a blatt through the hills ... it was magic ..the sounds ... the feeling .. it all was way better then I expected ..
Anyway ... this vee here had been for sale for some time ... and he really needed to sell ... I added up my costs of waiting 12 months for my friend to privately import for me ... or buy now
My Man Maths won out ... and I purchased locally ....

So in no particular order .... I have owned previously ......

BMW Mini Cooper S
Rover Mini Cooper JCW S works (#33 of the last 50) ... sold this because I was offered a silly price
