Wet carpet

Notice its a bit damp under the drivers carpet.

Feels a bit wet leading up to where the steering column comes through the bulkhead.

Possible problems?

Heater matrix?

Hole in floor or bung missing if there is one?

Opinons appreciated

:)

VW's have this problem a lot which is normally down to the pollen filter seal. No idea where the pollen filter is on the vee so couldnt say if this is the problem. Also... air con overflow pipe???

Get a fan heater in the car to keep any moisture away from the electrics though.

It wasn't actually in my Vee, I had posted this question for someone who couldn't speak English. I recall he had a hole drilled for a stereo cable in the LHD passenger footwell.

There's two drainage holes right at each end of the scuttle panel. These can get blocked easily and then backfill into the foot wells.

At least I think there's one at each end, strangely I've only heard other reports of the passenger side footwell getting wet.

Worth a check anyway. Clear out with jet or wire coat hanger :)
