ok, feedback for those interested, spent a hungover sat morning giving the car a good going over.
Once washed and dried, on went the carlack 68 which I must admit, I was expecting more from - had been told of miraculous tar-spot removing properties but a couple of stubborn spots would not shift. I think I'm probably being harsh, and it did prvide a very clean base for the wax but no substitute for claying any tough spots.
The wax. Ahhhh, the wax. collonite 476s. Wow. I can't recommend it highly enough. It is a joy to apply (smell aside!) and buffs to a very deep shine. I swear a raincloud heading my way diverted on seeing this stuff going on! It did pour yesterday and the water beading was impressive.
Time will tell if the longevity is up to scratch but initial impressions are good. Wish I had a camera handy.
In summary, for anyone who likes a good detailing session now and then, this is probably for you. More seasoned/dedicated detailers will no doubt have better lotions and potions up their sleeve, but in my view, for your average vee owner (is there such a thing?!) this ticks the boxes.
