Having come back from Montlhery my vee was in a bit of bother. Needed new rear discs as immediate work and a general service having done 11k+ since the last service at Angelworks which had included a cambelt change. I decided Ben at Angelworks would be the man to take care of my vee but he was on holiday. With the Hever meet approaching the following weekend I wanted my vee ready for the last major meet of the year. I contacted another specialist dealer not too far from me but he was charging too much for me (although I would spare no expense on my vee) plus could not fit me in til the following week ie Hever would be off. Pressure on thursday was the only day in the week to get the work required on my vee.
On the Tuesday I ordered the parts I needed from Renault Parts Direct with next day delivery which duly occured. Again Paul Temperton at RPD was a complete professional. :approve:
On wed having had a chat with Taipan aka Jon he recommended his local dealership in St. Albans. He had recently had new seats fitted by them and said their customer service was excellent.
A bit wary of Renault dealerships and their pricing structure I still nevertheless contacted them through lack of choice and time constraints. I spoke to Nicky at the dealership and she was ever so nice and extremely personable and friendly during our conversation. I explained to her the situation and she said I could come down on Thursay at anytime once I had all the parts. The flexibility offered was something I had not experienced before with Renault dealerships and at such short-notice. We agreed for 10am. And what amazed was the price offered. Far less than the independent specialist I had contacted and with a 20% discount.
Following day I turned up with vee and parts and met Nicky and another guy at the reception and what came across is they are true enthusiasts for the Renault sport brand and know what we RS drivers are like
What I learnt was they are in effect a franchised dealership. Waters is the group name and they have a Renault dealership and Kia in one building with a Peugeot dealership just along the road.
They offered me tea all day long. A nice bigscreen TV to watch what I wanted (Commonwealth Games 100m!) All throughout was informed of the progress and I had a look at the Peugeot RCZ (v nice) and amongst others. There was an issue with the emergency pads the V6 passion boys had fitted (not vee specific pads) so had to shave off some of the metal holding the pad. They offered to clean the vee to my preferences. Having talked to the staff I realised they loved vees and saw them as the ultimate Renaultsport. A true evolutionary iteration.
Once all the work was done now came the payment. I was even more surprised when they knocked off another 8% off the quoted price!!!! To say I was pleased would be an understatement. I then spoke to them about further work and they were now offering 30% off to me on any we agreed to. I would definately use them again if I cant get hold of Ben and will use them to service my 1.6 from now due to price, customer service and just how GENUINELY friendly everybody was. They look after your car with the utmost respect to the owner.
Overall had a 36k service plus new discs fitted and brakes bled. I cant fault the dealership in anyway. Considering price, professionalism, time constraints and accomodating me, and also a passion for the vee it worked out perfectly for me. Peace of mind is what I want when someone works on my vee and that is what I got. I have to thank Jon for the recommendation and ultimately I made the Hever meet in my own vee [smilie=icon_cheers.gif] [smilie=icon_cheers.gif]
