Would a ClioSport box work cos I know gripper diffs arent that expensive by comparison.....

Hi Dave, I don't think so as the box is different ? Not sure if the internal unit is interchangeable though , I'm doing a rear wheel drive 5 with a 182 turbo which is also looking for a LSD box

Just had a look on the net, cheap as chips has anybody used them?

Edit.. Done a bit of digging and the honda lads say they are shite

I was looking at the one I took out of mine the other week. Are they that much different? Looked very similar to me, I was considering rebuilding the 172 one I took out and seeing if it would bolt up to the C1J in my 9

I had a gripper diff fitted to a 5 gearbox jc3 and then took it out and fitted to a jc5 clio box so you can swap them but my gearbox builder did this for me I remember he had to fit over size diff bearings to make it fit.

So you can (kinda) interchange the diffs? Interesting. I really wanna bolt a clio box to a C1J block now. Shame I threw my C1J blocks in the bin a couple of months ago. Doh!

Well I'm going to get a couple off those phantom diffs and run them on 2 different engines , they are cheap, cheap isn't always good but it's it's worth the testing and I will let yous no of there crap or good ,
