Valver Soft Pedal Conversion - Determined to figure it out!

mines up and running now

i've totally removed the pedal stop so i get a lot of travel on the pedal...

however, i still cannot change gear whilst the car is moving (fine if its stationary) - which suggests to me the clutch isnt disenguaging?

not necessarily mate, by not having the stop in the ratchet will adjust too much, by allowing it to only ratchet two clicks or so then poppin the stop back in it gets the right adjustment for the soft pedal, or least thats what i've managed to do on mine

This has been annoying me on my soft pedal conversion for a while - just haven't been arsed to try and sort it!

However, i'm running mine with the full pedal stop in. The pedal and cable are new as well. The pedal is perfect, until the car gets hot, i.e. after a thrashing or sat in traffic. Then it is difficult to get into first - but does go in.

So does that method seem to work ok coops? As you know mate - i'm going turbo route soon, and have just bought a helix paddle myself. Has this stopped your slipping problem? I was wondering about this myself on the hybrid, because the tension on the cable seemed massive when i had a smaller pedal stop in - i was wondering whether it could be pulling the release arm slightly.

I've given up on this for now.. i've used a standard release arm with the R5GTT uprated clutch.

It's quite stiff, very on/off, but i love it!

alex, yes it seems to be fine on my setup now. i do need to run the car more to be sure tho mate but upto now its been perfect

i dont use the car often so i cant be sure it will stand the test of time as yet tho :(

Keep me posted mate! If it causes it to slip, i might have to go back to the standard release arm - got help my leg, it's got used to a panzies clutch pedal!!!!

mine sits right n works by my method, but still slips occasionally, i think its pressure plate tho, not pedal setup etc
