Uprated gearbox and diff. Any1 interested?

I am currently in the process of having a new 1 piece input shaft with straight cut 1st and 2nd gears, new 1st and 2nd main gears,
it will be made of composite steel and heat treated.
Also a diff will b available.

I might b able to get a better price if more of us buy at the same time.

Price is roughly ?1500 for the shaft and gears fitted plus any parts that need replacing in your old box.
Diff is about ?600

I'm waiting for more details but my gearbox is on it's way to them and I will know more next week.

Any interest?

Aaaahhhhhhhhh Stu, you should have rang me mate, I could have sorted you out.

If you went to GTO, I deal with the guy he gets to build the UN1's for him (save the six speed).

I've dealt with him before and tbh not too impressed.

No it's not Gto, it's a firm that have dealings with xtrac and cosworth, they are making a new mainshaft for cosworth something to do with thier re-entry to f1.
Plus I can get what I want done because it's not a kit. It's being made to what I want.
Plus it's a fair bit cheaper.

At 2K plus fitting? Bloody hell....if thats cheap i'll stick with a std one lol

It's ?2.1k fully built with a diff. i put the wrong price up pmsl.
edited now.

When I spoke to chris he said it was ?2k just for the shaft unfitted.

and i cant stick with a std box :(

once this box is in i will be running around 470 bhp/trq
and ive got anti lag and launch control. plus i can use slicks then.

when you bringing the 5 up to chelsea cruise to anti-lag burn out across the bridge?

next year will be year of the 5.
with this box in the power will be going up up up.

it is mate, the prices from Kevin are out off line. 4.5k for the 5 speed and 6.5k for the 6.

What do you mean by fully rebuild, is that included bearing and all the gaskets ?

Ive got all the gearbearings and new syncro-kit + some cup parts for the gearbox, can u use this for the rebuild ?
 
Basically that price will be for,
me sending a complete box,
them stripping it, cleaning all the parts, might get them shot peened to.
supply and fit new 1 piece shaft with new 1st and 2nd main gears,
supply and fit a new diff (plated I think)
and rebuild the box back together so it's ready to be refitted to the car.

What it doesn't include is,
if any other parts are worn or broken and need replacing, such as bearings, other gears....

So if you have a good working box it won't cost any extra.

Jo, some of your parts can be used, bearings maybe but the kit includes some new bearings cos the shaft size increases so the bearings need to as well, syncros again the gears are increasing in size so I am unsure but can find out, cup parts-dunno what they are lol.

Once they have stripped and measured my box I will know more, I want any weak points removed.

If any1 is interested let me know numbers so I can see if I can get the price down.


Or is no1 here building a powerful car? Lol

I'm in for november, I'll give you the parts i'll got and see what you can use. Got also the stonger (cup part) gearselector.
 
It's going to take pretty much until then to get everything made anyway so that's cool,
I might need a depsoit to get the shaft made at the same time as mine.

Do you want a diff as well? And what clutch spline?
 
ive got the custom made flywheel and trippleplate helix clutch, so standard spline patern. Prob. i'm going for the diff 2.
 
Just been told the parts that are being reused will be cleaned and rem finished.
This will increase life, make them stronger and make gear changes easier.
And the LSD will be a plated Salisbury type diff.
 
Stu, what can you do with the 5th gear ? Is there something else possible besides the R25V6 or the 610 ? I need a longer 5th for sure.
 
I can get whatever you want made but will obviuosly cost a bit extra. At a guess ?150ish but don't quote me on that.
I can find out if you want? But won't be unroll my box is stripped and measured sometime next week.
